It would have been a far more attractive phone if they would have smoothed out some of the edges. The final design didn't have to be that clunky. Still I think it will get quite a cult following if they lower the price.

They should have eliminated those chrome "flaps" on the top and bottom. That would have made the phone seem less like a Pontiac Aztec.

what were the marketing people at sprint thinking? really verizon announces the I-Phone and they combat with a dual flip Kyocera?? someone apparently didnt think this out fully. I am really hoping a hands-on with this may change my mind.

No matter what sprint comes out with people are gonna down play it. Unless sprint comes out with the iphone people will not like it... kudos for thinking outside the box, sprint will only release an upgrade from the evo when people with the evo are eligible to upgrade.

I see a top 5 selling phone for Sprint. First gen phone are always a little rougher when they first hit the market but watch other carriers will be looking for a dual screen device. When you hold it its a large device and heavier than most but so was the EVO. People will be taken with the larger size and display, plus having a screen that can be dedicated to a large keyboard. Dual screen apps will be a huge driver also.

I seem to be an Army of One but I like it. Ugly? It is certainly no uglier than say the Motorola Droid. Bulky? It does not appear to be any bulkier than any number of phones that have a physical keyboard and I will gladly give up the the keyboard for an extra display. Looks heavy??? Even with my brand new contacts I am unable to see heavy. It's a phone people, not a dumbbell. How the heck heavy can it be? Seems Sprint bashing all the rage these days but having suffered the price gouging, poor service, and poor coverage of AT&T I am thrilled to be with Sprint. I am due my preferred customer upgrade this spring and I plan on getting me one of them there Echos. I will do my best to keep my new Big, Ugly, and Heavy looking cellular device in my pocket when not in use as not to offend. Peace out..

I think its a great idea! Sure...it could be a more attractive phone (no big deal), but I think that the main people that are bashing it, are people who are just mad that the carrier they are with didn't come up with this brilliant idea 1st. Kudos for Sprint!!!
