Seriously... If Samsung keeps on doing this they will keep on losing cash... STOP releasing such a buttload of CRAPPY devices already! FFS SAMESUNG... DROP all the fodder and FOCUS on Note and S Series. GEEZ! How HARD can it be?

So you are giving advice to a company which earns a profit of 20 billion, eh ? If you'd done any homework before posting that comment you'd realize Samsung is losing money on mid-low range devices. Their flagships are just doing fine. So, if anything, Samsung should do absolutely the opposite of what you just said. IMHO, Samsung should focus on mid-low range more. They've already fixed a lot of issues with Android L update i.e. it is not buggy, it doesn't lag and it uses very less resources. So their low-mid range shouldn't lag as they use to. They've also improved their design quite a lot since S5 and they've even streamlined their device category. A Series for great design, S andNote series if their Flagship. E series is for budget phones, I think. All they now need to do is introduce a phone with a relatively competitive price point as Moto G/E and consumers will easily prefer Samsung over Moto.

20 millions on mobile business alone? Samsung should invest on devices they've been losing money with? Samsung low-mid range cost almost twice others with the same specs. All Samsung new devices have almost the same designs with their old ones which had protruding camera and speaker on the back. I won't buy any overpriced Samesung crap until they can innovate.

no, he's giving advice to a company that has seen a 35% drop in profit in the last quarter.

Yeah well does he know why the profits are falling ? Answer is NO ! Otherwise he wouldn't be saying what he's saying.

What do you mean by "does he know"? No one can predict consumer behavior for sure but he does have a good reason why Samsung isn't doing so good. Infact, even Samsung has announced that it will revamp its product portfolio and manufacture less devices.

Maybe you missed the part where I wrote in capitals 'IMHO' ? Read my comment correctly and in totality before pointing fingers at me. No offence.

HTC/Sony all focusing on premium devices. Please remind me how much profit they made in last 5 years combined. Samsung is not Apple who can simply rely on brand name to make money. They are doing what's necessary to make money in this hyper competitive market.

True that... however why can't Samsung rely on its brand name? Hint hint; the reason they can't rely on brand name is because we have all this Galaxies around which turn the "Galaxy" Brand into just a random meaningless word. Samsung should cut its losses already and aim for the top end market, much like Apple does. That IS where samsung belongs, and that is were we see the Notes and S series shine. Dropping the low/mid end devices(or at least cutting the numbers to no more than a couple variants) should be done now that we have the incoming asian horde of Xiaomis, Meizus, Huwaweis etc all of them rise. All these are more than capable of delivering premium specs on rather affordable devices. In a couple more years the low/mid end range will be completely dominated by these brands and you all know it. TLDR: The only reason Samsung can't ride the "brand name" wave is because they've been hellbent on destroying the "Galaxy" moniker's premium ring to it by releasing so god damn many "Galaxy" devices with lackluster specs/design. IMHO they should either Drop the "Galaxy" moniker from their flagships OR drop all the crap phones and cut on the losses.

u know in india samsung galaxy s4 is cheaper than A5 and samsung galaxy s5 mini is cheaper than samsung A3... and one more intresting thing samsung A3 and Huawei honor 6 with 3gb ram have almost same price. so samesuck do u think so we people are fool? samesuck u have no control on pricing and that is the main reason for company share loss....and beware of ur designing team for s series

Samsung: Here's a new device for fans. It's thin and it's awesome. Fan: It's so cool. So, what's new? Samsung: It's the new 5.5 inches 720p display Fan: But it's basically the same design with the old ones, same front speaker, home button. Samsung: Can you see there's a big change in design? It's 5.5 inches now. Fan: Why this new design still has protruding camera which causes wobbling when use on desk/table? Samsung: Put a case on it. Fan: But a case would defeat the whole purpose of this phone being thin. Samsung: Even if it's in a thick case, it's still a thin phone. Fan: Why this new design still has the speaker on the back? Samsung: We want people around you have better hearing than you. That's a good way to get attention, a good way to have you advertising the device for us. Now just order this phone already.

While i dont speak for all, phones without cases or protection usually dont last very long.

I have never used a case on a cellphone. I've dropped all of them on hard surfaces with little damage beyond a few scuffs on the corners. To date no cracked or broken screens. Recent phones: Lumia 520, Lumia 630, Lumia 822, Lumia 925, Motorola Droid Maxx, Motorola Photon 4G, Motorola Atrix 4G Motorola Moto G (2013) Yes, I like Motorola and Nokia phones!

You can easily replace with Iphone 4 way up to Iphone6+ with your texts. Dual core for ages when the rest are into octa-cores.

Samsung is giving out a message. The trolls kept mocking Samsung for using plastic in 2014, and they are saying now "you want metal, there you go. stuff it all up your mouth".

My Galaxy S3 back casing can't be closed completely. I don't know about other Samsung phones but I've experienced hand on with my S3 and the S5. They just feel cheap, really cheap. I also have the N5 and it's plastic but it doesn't feel cheap. I don't think it matters what Samsung uses for their phones, they'll still feel cheap (with premium price). Well, Samsung can stuff all their phones up theirs.

Do you ever talk about the devices you actually like?... we already know that you hate Sony devices and now Samsung... do you have an actual advice on to what device is good and why?

Yes I do and I believe it won't be any trouble for them to make it. An Sony S3 with Samsung Super AMOLED 1080p display or with LG IPS+. That's it.

this phone is great for its class. but should come with 5.0 out of the box and 2600 mAh battery is bit small for a FHD in a 5.5'' display.
