It looks like Motorola is unlocking the Atrix bootloader with the Gingerbread update

In keeping with their promise to unlock the bootloaders of their Android phones, it looks like the Gingerbread update for the Motorola Atrix will also unlock the bootloader...

this is quite interesting, wonder how good the update will be, hope it brings the features people are asking for, and maybe more uses for the fingerprint scanner like opening apps by swiping a certain finger directly from the lock screen (I've heard something related to that)

also 2.3.3 wont be half bad and 2.3.4 will be an easy update from there (I think), but will have to wait and see, July is really close

Hope I can get some details when the update its available

Indeed very interesting. Now the Atrix will truly be the phone it was meant to be from the beginning. 2.3.4 shouldn't be that hard of an update. We'll just have to see :)

I think it will take a bit more than that to make it into the phone it was meant to be.....

Moto really lost momentum on this handset. Started off with absolute awesomness, but now.. meh....

Well, Q3 is only about a week away, so technically they are going to be late to make the bootloader easier to unlock.
