Is this the end of Samsung's Note brand?

Negative perception over the Galaxy Note 7 rose to 53% in October from 34% in August when the smartphone was launched on the market. Consequently, the positive perception is now down to 42% from 62% during the same period...

If they drop Note, I will skip this brand.

^^ My sentiments too. Heck, thry probably won't drop the Note line. Automobile companies have had defects in their cars which has caused accidents due to brakes failure, and deaths due to Air Bag failure, yet that hasn't ended their line of cars. Airplanes have had crashes due to engine defect, yet people still fly; trains have crashed due to defects, yet people still ride; bused have crashed, yet people still ride. WTF (why) does the Note line have to end because of a defect? SMH

They will probably just rebrand it.

The number had nothing to do with it.

Thanks for also posting all 92 photos. I wouldn't have guessed which you're talking about without those pictures. Back to the topic, the way I see it is, they have two options 1. Assume people will forget about the whole fiasco one year later and carry on with Note 8 as usual. or 2. just re-brand Note brand to something else.

That's what I'm telling PA. They post unnecessary numbers pictures in an article. Waste of data and space as I've said before. One or two pictures of the device is enough, if they have to add it. It's just stupid!

This shows how dumb the reporters are at iPhoneArena.

Just keep it and go on with the Note 8. Even though it's unbelievable that a company like Samsung failed to bring out a safe device twice, I'm sure that this won't happen anymore in the future.

The device in question is more like an 'Edge' (the Note should have a flat screen), so no to the headline question.

One of the most likely outcomes of this debacle, is that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 will be one of the safest products the company has ever produced.

Drop the Note line then make one of their current mod range lines into a new flagship line. The J series, C series, or even Grand series are all options. Or just rename the Note like to Galaxy Play.

hopefully it is not the C Series. for sure people will remember the exploding note 7 on the 4th gen of the C series... the Galaxy C4... maybe the grand series is a better choice.. for me.

[S]hit happens. I will only buy the Note series, maybe the S series if it's 5.5"/5.7".

No. Samsung should not abandon note line-up because each and every galaxy notes have features that makes them stand out from crowd. Yes note 7 is biggest fail in whole smartphone industry but if they give up on note series then it will destroy their reputation.

Make the batteries removable and remove excess useless features. It makes the device slow and puts pressure on the processor.

'"However, experts claim that this type of phones are more vulnerable to external shock and prone to heating problems since they consume more battery". Several times you have reported rumours of the iPhone 8 having a bezeless design and never did you mention this then

The note series has always been the best phone to me. One alleged defect will not change my opinion. They can name it Galaxy face off and people would still want it myself included.
