Is this the display for the iPad mini?

0. phoneArena posted on 17 Oct 2012, 09:23

You know how it goes: each time there is a new Apple product about to launch, the rumor mill provides more and more leaks the closer we get to the device's alleged announcement date. That is valid for the iPad mini as well – the rumored, 7.85-inch tablet that Apple has yet to reveal. What we have here, folks, are said to be photos of the screen meant to go inside the iPad mini. Reportedly, it has the 4:3 aspect ratio that iPad screens are known for...

I don't really see how Apple is going to differentiate this from their current iPad. The screen isn't THAT much smaller, maybe 1.5 inches. The 4:3 ratio is the same, so there's really no change in ergonomics. They're not going to sell this for THAT much less than the real iPad because, let's face it, this is Apple we're talking about... Oh that's right, this is Apple! They don't need to differentiate because people will buy it in droves anyways! How silly of me...

Wrong again. I actually respect Apple more than you know. The most successful business in history must be doing something right, after all. If it means turning much larger profits by utilizing consumer hype over products that, objectively, are on par with the competition, so be it (which is what I meant by my previous post.)

Again, I'm probably the only person on this site who has ever defended you gallito, I don't know why you always try to pick fights with me...

Their 16 gig tablet is 730.00 this is "supposed" to sell for 200.00. Thats a huge difference for a slightly smaller screen the Xyboard was not that big of a difference from their 10.1 to the 8.7 like 150 or something like that when it just came out.

Thats because it will be a lesser tablet. It will only have 1024x768 resolution, it will probably start at 8GB instead of 16GB, and it will have a weaker processor than what's in the new ipad or iphone 5, probably the same processor we will see in the new Ipod Touch.
