Is Motorola working in a 5.9-inch Nexus, codenamed Shamu?

Ever since Google first announced its intentions to purchase Motorola, there have been rumors (aka hopes) that Motorola would eventually make a Nexus device. So far, that hasn't happened, but there is a chance that Motorola could contribute to the Nexus line before its sale to Lenovo officially goes through. It may even be working on the first Nexus phablet...

Hopefully there will also be a Nexus with a screen size around 5 inches. I really don't like this screen size war that's going on right now...

Yeah. There should be a new Nexus around 5inch imo. But having two new Nexus at two different sizes will be welcomed as well. XD

I hope so too, but I'd personally go with this phablet. I was planning on getting both the next Nexus phone and tablet, but if this rumor is true I'll probably just stick with the one.

Not exactly, otherwise the Nexus 4 would have be the called the Nexus 5 as well (4.65" rounds to 5) The 4th Nexus with a 4.65" screen was the Nexus 4 The 5th Nexus with a 4.95" screen was the Nexus 5

Yes. We need a 5" Nexus device right now. We feel so very incomplete with our 4.95" Nexus 5. That missing 0.05" is devastating us.

I wouldn't mind another 4.95" Nexus, all it needs is some updated hardware and I'm happy...

I remember when my Galaxy Nexus arrived and I thought it was huge. Then my Note 3, and I thought it was huge. I like my Note 3, but even at 5.7 inches. I think a 5.9 would be great. I would hate to have to go smaller than my Note 3.

Yes, this is what the american has been missing. They stuck in the some-size-too-big thinking. They 2 years replacement cycle and apple one hand propaganda really hit american mind.

Totally, we need a 6-incher that possibly will not be useful because Google will not have any split-screen app... and we stuck with a big ass phone that does one thing at the time

By all rumors, the X+1 will use a SD800, but there's no word on whether they'll augment it like they did the dual core SD S4 Pro "X8" chip on the Moto X.

That's the thing. Moving on forward I think someone should take up that "Snapdragon modder" challenge so far only Moto has the nuts to do it :)

Still OK but I hope that there won't be an X+2 or +3 on SD801 or 805 afters... that'd be a wee bit ridiculous imo.

I've heard Motorola is working with Qualcomm to have a custom Snapdragon 800 for the X+1

Nice if that pans out. Hope that they'll continue to in the foreseeable future.

A 6-inch device would add a lot of flavor and option to the Nexus family, I welcome this phablet with big open arms!

Nexus phablet? That could be nice. Always nice to have choices :P Too bad Vanilla Android doesn't have software features to utilize a 5.9" display :(

Oh cmon, I really hope there will be normal sized phone no bigger than 5 inch. If I wanted to carry a tablet around, I would get one...

and that's a reason why Android device come in many sizes. You don't want phone size bigger than 5", but others (me) think 5.3-6.3" is VERY GOOD size. and I prefer 5.8"-6.1"
