Samsung do the fingerprint, but please don't put it into the home screen. Apples waiting for that one, don't do it.

Samsung: "I don't give a s**t about Apple, I can do whatever I want, if Apple want to sue me let it be then." ;)

As far as we know, Samsung is not afraid of Apple at all, because they're frienemies for many years now. So, Samsung can do whatever they want, so is Apple. Anyway, I don't know where Samsung will put the fingerprint sensor on the S5 but I think LG will put the fingerprint sensor on the back of the G3 since LG is focusing on placing back buttons on their flagship. Oh, and is the person behind the clone Darkjedi the same as the old TROLL?

I trust you... But from what I am seeing... Samsung is not a multi billion dollar company at all... As a matter of fact it is more like a multi trillion dollar company.... Since it owns about half of everything here in South Korea.... Yes, I mean everything from cinema, department store, theme parks, they even have Samsung cars for God's sake...

The 'S' in S. Korea actually stands for "Samsung" Korea not "South" Korea. ;-)

I also think it would come on the home button.

The article says it will be UNDER the DISPLAY... Not under the "Home Button". But Samsung "Talks a lot, when the day is long"... They should drop the Iris recognition system and instead worry about OIS so people can take better pictures, IMO.

Fingerprint sensor on the screen would be awesome if they manage to do so....

That's been done, instead of on the screen meaning software. How about in the screen, meaning slick cool hardware.

Yeah they can implement the same to get that innovation tag back...

Sorry, Apple already has a patent for that. Sammy would not spend that type of money anyway. They hardly want to make the phone metal.

I've already heard the rumors go back & forth between iris scanner & fingerprint scanner multiple times now. So what you are REALLY saying is, no one really knows right now. Yup. That sounds about right. Perhaps it's time to stop speculating. This has gotten old. There was an article about how it's going to be an iris scanner just 3 hours ago.

I think that this is bad journalism. One week it's a metal body and eye scanner. Then the next week it's back to a plastic body and finger print scanner. Who is the source of these leaks, Sally's $5 fortune telling service down the block from you guys? It's getting just as bad as iPhone rumors.

3 hours before this article it was "Galaxy S5 to ship with state-of-the-art iris scanner" They might as well make one article saying "S5 may or may not have a fingerprint scanner, an iris scanner, a 5.25" display, a QHD display or an FHD display, it might also have a metal body" and repost it every twelve hours.

“Who would want to put their handset up close to their eyes for authentication in places like movie theaters and bed, or even while they are driving?” Finally someone uses some logic while talking about tech.

I find it hard to believe a story that a certain hardware will be shelved at the last minute when they should now be starting mass production.

It was never confirmed so it's quite possible they were testing it at one point and scrapped it a while ago or both at the same time. I'd also like to point out it isn't Android following the trend of apple when Android had it prior To apple
