LOL @ Android tablets can't compete with the iPad without ICS.

Oh indeed Paul - tablets are an awful lot about software. Guess what:

Even the original Samsung Galaxy Tab - running Android 2.1 - could download an MP3 file from the web - store it locally for later use - and then play it without installing some app to do so. Not to mention video files, or in fact - ANY kind of file. And I didn't even say anything about downloading torrents, or using it as a portable hotspot. Or the million other things Android can do - and iOS can't.

All these things - not even the iPad 3 will be capable of doing.

Can you even browse desktop sites on the ipad ?

obviously lack of flash goes without saying.

Galaxy tab 10.1 was better than the ipad - that was a fact

Even the original iPad could do all those things. And it has apps - something sorely lacking on the droid tablets.

Do tell me c.hack - what can the iPad do that Tablets like the Xoom or the Pad 10.1 or the transformer can't? Because I've already said what the iPad CAN'T do and those aforementioned tablets can.

Read his actual quote provided in the article, not the paraphrased title. It's not that offensive or anti-Android, just an opinion based off of a valid concern.

I don't know when you guys are going to learn. It's mostly the applications that keep you busy. Apple kills in that department

Yeah. You gotta love flash on tablets. Sucks up battery and crashes. No wonder even Adobe is giving up. Fact is Android tablets are slugs compared to iPad and few people bought them.

You specifically have proven yourself to be the most stupid of all ifans on this website lately and thus for this you deserve the Apple Golden sheep trophy award and also have brad Pitt carve a rotten apple logo in your head inglorious style.

At this point, I wish I had battery sucking and crashing flash on my iPad. Because any embedded video on this thing isn't even viewable. I press play and I get nothing but audio and blank box where the video should be. But my trusty Droid... Plays them every time with no issues.

Let's face it, the old Android issues that iPhone fans like to parrot to each other just don't apply anymore. iOS is being outclassed in everyday possible with the exception of smoothness. And it looks like Samsung has caught up with Apple on that front as well. Pretty soon, the only bragging rights iPhone and ipad users will have is.... Well, I can't think of anything at the moment.

hope windows 8 will not be as restricted as ios. If windows 8 tablets brings what it promises ie., the integration of desktop and tablet os, then both android tablets and ipads are in big trouble !

agreed, i cant wait for win8 tabs. ecspecially if you can run android apps on it(via a program)

sn: i say program because i believe win8 will be more like a computer less like a phone(apps)

if windows 8 is as restrictive as 7/7.5 then I'll be staying with android.

You're talking about Windows Phone 8 Apollo. What we're taking about is Windows 8 the desktop OS.

The thing is I barely see any commercials or advertisements for android tablets. Exert for the Motorola tablets is see them more often.

If there was more advertisements android tablet share would be better.

Personally i dont see anything majorly wrong with the latest version of honeycomb. I actually sold my ipad in favour of a honeycomb tablet. The freedom and customization that android offers is great and there's more than enough apps on offer.

On android tablets prior ics you have desktop experience (file management and continous timeline multitasking) at the cost of smoothness. iPads give you smoothness at the cost of selling your soul...you got to forget desktop experience and be enslaved by a new method of managing apps and files and be forced to buy all proprietary (Apple) cables, devices or software. Honeycomb has partial hardware acceleration, but with tegra2 doesn't work very well (didn't see personally a galaxy tab). ICS brings full hardware acceleration and even on Anandtech they say if hiccups were the only thing holding you back from taking an android device, from now on it's not anymore the case.

Android is growing up and it's exciting to see its progress step by step. People don't understand that it's Open source (almost): if one day you want to build a car radio, a robot and you need a software to manage it you just need to download the code and make a port. Ofc it's not really like this, but you got the picture.

You can be an Apple fan, but if you like programming or technology you can't hate android because it's everyone's. You can hate the related brands...Samsung, LG or maybe Google.

Be sure I'll be hating Google if they make android completely a proprietary software.

ICS isnt that much of a difference from honeycomb... ics i believe is a huge make over for mobile phones but as far as tablets go i dont see much of a difference

Wrong, ICS is a huge step forward for tablets. The UI will be almost the same, but things will go smoother and hipothetically all ICS ready apps will be compatible with both phones and tablets. If all goes right, there will be no reason to get an iPad unless I want an Apple on its back, I'm a marketing slave and persuadable person, I love Steve Jobs, I like iTunes, I'm a crowd and hype victim, I don't want a pc-like desktop, I don't like widgets, I take a tablet for gaming only, I don't like to watch movies on a 16:9 screen ratio, I don't like to share files via bluetooth, I don't like file management, I like aluminium...
