Information about new Verizon mega pixel phone surfaces
PhoneArena.com is again the first to report about a new device from Audiovox, which according to FCC filing will be available from Verizon Wireless (tentative). The Audiovox CDM-8940 sports 1.3 mega pixel camera and runs on the same chipset as the LG VX8000 - Qualcomm's MSM6500. According to the user manual, the phone only supports 1xRTT data, but as we know, the MSM6500 is primary used for its EV-DO high speed capabilities (up to 2.4 mbps peak rates). The 8940 features clamshell design, GPS, voice dialing/recording, speakerphone and BREW. It is unknown exactly when the phone will be launched from Verizon Wireless.
