Imagination announces PowerVR G6630 - up to 60 times the graphics prowess of current iPhones and iPads

PowerVR-based designs are what ticks inside iPhones and iPads, so Series6 is very much guaranteed to find its way into next year's edition of Apple's mobile devices. The iPad 4, for example, which is the device with the most powerful mobile graphics ever made by Apple, and crushes the competition out there, runs on a modified quad-core PowerVR SGX554 graphics, part of the Series5 processors...

oh no aint that cute? the little TROLL is all over this post being the vanguard for apple and its chip supplier :) well kid thats all it is...cute! Ever heard of Nvidia tesla? Look here Jack before you open that glob of a pie hole in your face you clearly do not know what you're talking about as teraflop isnt the only deciding factor but as all noobs do you jumped the gun in your response with one tiny factor that you could fathom. Tell me did your head hurt when you tried to understand what a teraflop is for replying to my post??? :) Boy dont be a fool or an iFanboyish girl as they both are synonyms for each other and realize this that the Macbook/Mac computers sales have gone up due to success of Apple's entire mobile line up but this will quickly change as Apple has decided to dump intel as its main SoC and gone for its own brew which in the PC world is a bad bad move. Granted people are brand loyal but they aint dumb and if Apple gives its own brew of sillicon in its computers their computer sales will once again decline like in the mid 90s however their mobile devices sales will keep bearing good fruit. And you really dont want to get in a slugfest with me about GPUs cuz if you follow online gaming then I need no intro bro! iFanboyish little girls like you defend everything that fruit company does while all their fruit is good for is making PIES and I just LLLOOVVVEEE Pies :) Apple should make baby pacifiers for people like you...if they did I'd definitely get you one! :)

HAHA That was cute! Dude I hate Apple..for the most part.. but I love low power, innovative tech. I'm being a troll? Man, just take a long, hard look at your statements prior to my response. "No way these cards are even close to consoles " Okay, Jack. Let's ask your precious Nvidia then. http://www.geekosystem.com/nvidia-mobile-graphics-2014/

I m Jack? Okay jill I'll play :) Nvidia says mobile graphics will be better than X360 because X360 is using a gpu thats six years old and also it WILL bceome better by 2014 - a good year and a half or two...its not gonna be January dont worry! And secondly the next gen console is going to be featuring a 6xxxAMD discrete desktop GPU that are crazy fast even compared to high-end laptop GPUS thre fore they'll still blow away the tablet/phone GPUs in 2014 for by which the next gen X360 is scheduled to be released! I am neat and efficient!

You call that a play?: p You missed your own quote. Do I need to repeat it to you? Also, you missed that Nvidia gives that as estimate for their own chips. And then you missed the fact that Rogue chips will probably be better than "Grey" and "Logan " gpu, just like all previous IT gpu were, compared to Nvidia offerings. Oh and they will be out before 2014. Game over. Lol

Oh now you're pickin my words apart as you dont have a valid argument (no surprise there...all noobs do it) are you referring to me saying mobile gpus'll be better in 2014 ciz I meant that they'll be better than current gen console gpus not the X720 console's gpu...happy? Gimme a break! and ok if they were better than nvidia;s offerings then why werent they big in the market? oh let me huess they were uncrowned unspoken gpu champs? and ok even if they're out a little earlier than 2014 so what? its not like console and pc/laptop gpu development is going to stop...there'll always be a demand as long as the product exists or unless the device game is completely revolutionized...it just called derived demand...basic econ bro. Kid the game was over when I first replied to you...now I am just toying with you!

Well excuse me for taking your comment for what it was: "No way THESE cards ARE even close to consoles " You were basically saying that this Rogue series isn't even close to CURRENT console level. Now if you really think that, well I say you're totally deluded. If you don't, learn to write accordingly

Kid you've got a bruised ego right now with a load of butt-hurt....nurse it for the next time we cross paths!

Oh and my head didn't hurt, thanks. The brain inside it is said to be able to process 100- 1000 QUADRILLION FLOATING OPERATIONS PER SECOND.. ;)

PowerVR are capable GPUs. Just check out how much the DreamCast was ahead of its time. They are not close to high end PC level, and they don't need to be since they do end up in a less than 1cm thick shell.

People are behaving as if this is going to come out tomorrow. Just the fact that the time frame is not mentioned tells you something. BTW both ARM with Mali and Nvidia has announced extremely powerful GPU's for the future, which is likely to be on par or better than this.

Actually, if numbers are right, this should be way more capable even than the next generation consoles. Xbox 720 is being mentioned as ten times faster than Xbox 360..series 6 is freaking 15 times faster than iPad 4 GPU. Unbelievable..

There have been rumours of the PS4 using a Rogue 6 GPU.
