iPhone repair and replacement prices get bumped
Apple is raising prices across the board, it seems, not only with the new iPhones, but also with the latest iPads, and even with repair and replacement or AppleCare+ services. The cheapest new iPhone 8 starts at $699, compared to last year's iPhone 7 release at $649, though it does offer double the starting storage. Moreover, now all 256GB/512GB variants of the 10.5 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models are $50 more.

Moving on from hardware pricing, AppleCare+ for the new iPhone 8 Plusm for instance, is now $149, while the same coverage for the iPhone X is set at $199. The iPhone 6s/7 Plus coverage used to be $129, but is now in line with the new iPhones' insurance. Apple has also followed this trend with the repair and replacement services it offers for all phones across the board, it seems, as you can see below.

There are no more $99 screen replacements like there were for the iPhone SE and iPhone 6, but those instead are now $30 more. The other iPhones got a $20 bump in screen replacement prices, too, so with the deductible of AppleCare a screen swap for the iPhone 8 is $178. Thus, you might want to decide if you are going to be breaking it more than once, and wrap it in cases if you know you can't be bothered caring for your phone.
