Out of curiosity, if you reviewed the new Iphones, what score would you have given it?

To be honest, I haven't really used iPhones for more than 15 minutes, and certainly not any of the iPhone X devices (I'm more of an Android kinda guy). So I really wouldn't know what score to give it. I have no doubt they are amazing devices, but I can't imagine my score being as high as 9.3. I think that as an Android user, I'm more aware of the standard that is being offered elsewhere, so I'd probably be much more critical of certain features. However, I would also have no problem admitting things that Apple does better (optimization and overall speed, for example). Eventually, I'd love to review all kinds of devices and be able to have a more accurate perspective of what is on offer in the market at the moment. But for now, news articles are my thing hahaha

I have a question. A device that doesess is gonna be faster then a device that does more. Aren't devices suppose to get faster every year. Saying hardware is twice as fast, doesn't mean you are actually gonna see those results. It's just marketimv. You have to highlight everything that has been improved because it won't seem new if you don't. Like Liquid Retina Display. Really. LCD is Liquid Crystal Display. There is no liquid retina. Lol I woukd score the latest models as 9 at best and then subtract for what hasn't changed. Deduct for design, deduct for no real change in battery usage, deduct for slower modems, lower resolution, price and more. Both it and the Note 9 I think are an 8.5 at most. Because in both, 80% of the phone is basilly unchanged from last mod and. And for both phones both Note 9 and XS, neither are worth as much of a price increase they they got. The iPhone more so though.

Apple makes the biggest profit margins per device. Perhaps they're so focused/greedy in this respect they have lost touch with ensuring the highest quality control.

Samsung profit margins are higher than Apple's; now rephrase your opinion.

False. You can have all the money in the world, thst doesn't mean your products won't have issue. There is no perfect product. When you manufacture millions of something, there will be issues. But the problem is fans act like products don't have issues just because they don't experience any. It is reasonable to believe, that when a product has issues, millions produced will have the issue, unless it is found early in production to fix because they are released. The fact is, considering when Apple usually start production on. Ew phones, which is maybe 60 days prior to release, the first 2 months of phones which could be more than 10M will certainly have issues. What is fun y though Nd the fans ca t refute this is, Samsung makes over 30 models of phones and all of them combined have less issues that Apples one phone ever year. Koreans are the standard of quality that the Japanese use to be and the Chinese will never be. Everything in chine is always cheaply conceived and maufactured. It is a good thing the iPhone has awesome standby time in that if you plug it in and it doesn't charge, since it is sleep the battery won't die as fast. But what is sad though is every iPhone has had connectivity issues , charging issues, display issues, canera issues and more. These are issues Samsung I am sure has, but considering how many phones they makw, you hardly ever hear of issues.

You do understand that what you are essentially asking is Apple is so big that their phones should be bug free out of the box. Im not saying we cannot dream of that day but when you sell hundreds of millions of products, software has a tendency to show last minute issues. My knowledge is not as great as many other techies but I know there will be issues when do things in large scale. Blame Apple if they do not release an update real quick but its not correct to blame them so much for a software bug.

Apple is doing something with its lightning ports; I remember a similar issue happened when it updated the ios so that the port closes after 1h if the phone was not unlocked. I'm also curious to see the cause.

I'm guessing the review will be changed to a 9.4 with the added feature of saving you money on your electrical bill...

10 phones and 8 of them failed. That potentially means 80% of the phones have this issue. Watxh Apple and the fans claim its a small problem. I was one of the nine. Now I am one of the 8. Compare $1000 phones? Cameragate ChargingGate PasscodeGate 3 strikes you are out.

Oops. Surely Apple doesn't have a motive behind this issue? Crippled wired charging, and forcing wireless is a d1ck move. Hoping its software related, but anything is possible.

Hmmm. Guess I need to check mine. Only used wireless so far. Calm down Techie. Not the end of the world.

The real question is if this is software or hardware? The biggest thing I'm noticing is wireless charging users did not even know of this issue, because well the wireless charging is not affected, but wired is. Also more prominent in the Xs Max. Secondly, everyone is on the same OS yet its random who's affected. Third, If this was software only wouldn't it have affected both charging options and not isolated to a wired port? Makes me lean to it being hardware. Just my 2 cents.

Til they fix it, just make sure your phone is AWAKE when you plug in the charger. It's not like it is the end of the world.

Does the iPhone go back to sleep after a set amount of time once plugged in?

It's software, because my iPhone X started doing it after I updated to iOS 12. As long is the screen is on when I plug in the charger everything is fine.

Hey folks, just keep in mind that this is $1k+ phone and have a rating of "9.3" by PA. So what now PA?! The issues keeps coming.

I'm thinking it's related to the new iCriminal mode Apple added to ensure USB devices weren't allowed after a set amount of time.

Kinda sucks that they charge one hell of a premium price for their phones with no headphone adapter and quick charge supported charger, and this happens... I get that all phones will have some issues from their initial batch, and I hope Apple gets a repair program for free for this (which the phone is barely out yet, so it will be covered under by warranty) but if stuff like this happens' I wonder how many people will later on justify the price of future iPhone releases.

Don't worry people. Apple will say, you are charging it wrong and give Wireless charger for REDUCED price of 199$ to solve this issue...

If this is truly the issue, then it’s no big deal, and it’s basically already fixed. https://youtu.be/9Gd6GebX9rI

Hopefully, this isn't part of the strategy of Apple so that their wireless charger sell like hot cakes.

I use a wireless charging angled stand that I bought from Amazon back on Sept 20th. Works flawlessly. No issues of not charging while screen is off. I have installed 6 USB 4.8A usb wall outlets and they all work flawlessly as well. Maybe I’m lucky...

Did you tried the charger provided by Apple? Until now you use wireless and 3rd party chargers. Check? If it's not working it is a original charger fault.
