Apple should offer free repair and replacement of the charging port. They should have used USB C in this new iPhones.

Has not happened a single time with my Xs yet. But I am using a third party fast charger and usb c to lightening cable. But the good news is that whatever it is, people can rely on Apple to fix the issue either by a quick software update or a repair program like Apple has managed such things in the past.

Hope they don't act like its not their fault and then charge customers to get it fixed once their warranty is expired like their battery+SoC issues

They will do just that. One problem though, this is the first time apple is making their own power chips after slagging off another one of their loyal suppliers. If it turns out to be a hardware issue it will cost Apple ... Nothing really, the iFans will blame themselves (and they should) and pay whatever price to fix their own stupidity (but it won't).

Welp, that is good for you my friend. But just because your model doesn't have that issue doesn't really make this problem go away for any other users. Of phones exploding or bending, not being able to charge your phone without letting your screen going off is a definitely a problem.

How do you know, that would negated the issue, especially if it turns out to be software related?

I am not giving a causality. I am just saying that I haven’t experienced the issue yet and that I am using a third party charging equipment. The issue can be software and/or hardware related.

If its hardware related, the iphone is done. Apple hoping its only software.

Most probably, it's a hardware issue. A connection between the charging port and the battery. Try to see the video of Jerry rig. It's not that easy to replace considering that you have take out almost all of the internal first.

I saw it, and I think it’s more than likely software. We’ll see soon

It is not the same software on all brand new iPhone xs? I just guess that is a hardware problem with chargers. Guess.

It's a feature.. It help battery longevity by reducing the charge cycle, one at a time /s Maybe they want to save this feature for AirPower. So they can force user to get it, if they don't want to wait for update.

Just because 10 people are having this problem out of 10 million doesn't mean the entire iPhone batch is bad. Nope. Every OEM have problems like this, even some dangerous lethal problems like Note 7's bomb gate. Remember?

Did you watch the video? 8 out of 10 phones exhibiting issues... I don't recall the note 7 issues being legal though. Please share your link. I only recall iPhones killing people...

Ladies and gents.... the best Smartphone out there and among the most expensive.... /s Sometimes I wonder if Apple actually do those "gates" on purpose to get more coverage right after a launch.... and then fix it right away

Don't worry about all these fake news. PA gave it 9.3.

9.3 for an OS that barely changed designs since it first came out. And only adds like 2 new features every year and it's features from 2 years ago. Oh yeah, it's iPhone arena. cmon 9.3 frim phone arena aint credible. How is it fake when people are actually experiencing it.

hahahha, the real question is why are you so butthurt it recieved a 9.3? Phonearena isnt the only website that gave it a good score, there are dozens of other websites, and those reviewers actually know something about phones, not like you.

More poor programming from Apple causing software issues? Or manufacturing issues from cutting every corner possible to save money?

Lou from unbox therapy just demonstrated this, so it’s a real issue. Apple needs to get this handled ASAP! https://youtu.be/J_lRJuQtBmc

Has your device behaved like described in the article? Mine fortunately not yet.
