I wasn't being serious. ;) But I haven't seen Phonearena report on the Displaymate review yet...

Definitely. It was not a great situation, being afraid to leave my Note7 on the charger too long because it got so hot that I could barely touch it. New one should be here this week, so I am hoping for a good experience. Shame seeing this mess happen to my favorite OEM.

Does anyone have a running list of manufacturers that aren't having problems? I'm starting to have trouble figuring which ones are reliable...

Such a thing doesn't exist at least not since that indestructible Nokia phone.

Seriously? and to think that the only thing they did was to upgrade the camera and add 2 hours to the battery.... no wonder why they haven't made a real change to the phone in the last 3 years

My experience with T-Mobile a few years back really made Airplane mode a hazard, it would completely render my WiFi calling useless until hours later disabling it. I use Airplane mode when I'm sleeping and don't want any data related background noise putting strain on the battery.

Think I will wait till next year for either Note 8 or what ever iPhone comes out. My 6s plus works pretty good other then ios10 affected Bluetooth somewhat. Takes a while to connect sometimes.

There was a couple cases when my Note 7 (yes I returned it) would have the same issue. In my work building there is a complete dead zone where the elevators are. A couple of times I would come from the elevators to my desk, and my Note 7 would have issues reconnecting to the network. It wasn't every time, just a couple times I noticed this happened. Another time was due to dead zone and then going straight to the parking garage, which was fantastic for signal. A reboot cleared up the issue.

No surprise people are being used as guinea pigs for Intel's 1st gen radio.

For No Service problem. I have a solution. Turn off LTE Voice. Settings -> Cellular -> Cellular Data Options -> Enable LTE -> Data Only.
