Hahah HillaryClinton2020, aka Snakeboy aka Vincent Liu............you really need to leave the Apple cave! You are blind, going to say it again......dude you look like a girl. Are you a guy or girl now?

Hate to say it, Hillary...but you are right. Out of all the examples above... the iPhone nailed it for best optical/bokeh balance... lighting balance and clarity. The other two cameras were way too strong in their effects. In some cases the model appeared posed so far back in the frame... it looks more like a small doll (quite literally) and not naturally-framed in the shot. Not so with the iPhone.

I love how all camera comparisons on this website now are portrait ones. Because it's the only area where they know Apple will currently win.

So true. I bet chief editor told them to have at least one portrait comparison article a week .

Looks like Apple won again. Best phone hands down.

It only wins because they literally go out of their way to showcase the others badly. I mean the same framing issue came up last time and nothing was done to fix it this time. Also, the model keeps changing her stance and pose leading to artifacts in some pictures for "some" phones.

all looks weird.. try samsung's selective focus.. or try other dual camera with similar bokeh effect (honor 8, honor 6x, P9, redmi pro, or others)

Will take P9 over both if there has to be any.

Why don't you get hand extension or perhaps wheelchair? Are you lame or ret@rded that you cannot come closer to the subject so the framing will be equal on all 3 phones? Do you even understand what portrait shot means?

Your expectations are too high for them.

My sentiment exactly ^ Photos of the Huawei P9 and Google Pixel were shot with the framing quite behind the iPhone 7 Plus... That's cheating and inequality.

They aren't smart enough to understand that the iPhone uses telephoto effect. It's not about unsharpening the image. Smh.

Should be noted that the Pixel is great with close-up portrait photography (like it says in the actual app). Any other type of photograph and the Pixel would win hands down, this article hardly gave it a chance. And "Pixel, you're drunk", seriously bad article.

Haha just because it's an iPhone ? Lol you don't know anything about technology, iPhone camera is the bottom of the barrel compared to Huawei and Samsungs cameras.

Meh, those are poor people's phones. I wouldn't be caught dead with some garbage Samsung, or anything *shudder* Android. Having iPhone just makes everything better.

Now make a fast-focusing shootout so the S7 wins, and a wide-angle shootout so the V20 wins, etc etc...

Iphonearena will always make the iphone win.

IF you are not blind, P9 wins! but is hard to tell when who take the photos have no idea how to do

23. mikehunta727 unregistered

P9 actually misses the mark here bad and the Pixel is barely showing a portrait effect here. IPhone absolutely won here in terms of portrait shooting, the fandroids above really are just trolling by saying the p9 won, they clearly don't understand portrait photography

You must be blind.
