Which is faster - the iPhone 6 or the Samsung Galaxy S5? To answer this question, we attempted a comparison the kind of which we don't do often... yet. Below is a speed comparison between the iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 - a comparison aimed at determining which phone is faster in real life. Reb, I figured out the themes in swift key. I'm using the dark one, the lite one looks too much like the iOS keyboard.

Only 2? I heard there were paid themes (as in the Android app) but it could be they are coming in the future. Ofcourse you are using the black one ;)

That's how I know he's about 13, and not worth the debate lol. He's trying his best to draw me into a flame war, and failing.

See post 48, and from there you're dismissed. I have no time for weak minded fanboy trouble makers. You have the floor now kid.

I agree with the white/silver iPhone looking the best. I went to Costco and had my first look at the iPhone 6/6+ in person. It looked best in person.

Yeah, at first I was all on the gold, then when I finally got inside of AT&T and saw the silver...I was like yessss. My wife has the gold one, she loves it.

When you launched the Gallery app on called "a noticeable lag". When you launched Spotify on the iPhone 6, it stayed on the homescreen for a short while before the animation kicked in, just like with the GS5's gallery app, but it wasn't called "lag" of any sort. I'm not pointing just at you, Nick. I'm just saying that the general tech crowd these days are a little weird. Lag is is like a reserved word for Touchwiz, lol. When people talk about Samsung, they try to blend in the word "lag" as much as possible, but when it happens on other phones, other skins, other operating systems, hey, it's not lag. Anyway, I enjoyed this comparison.

I'm pointing at him. He did it several times, mentioning "lag" for the S4,but never once calling it out on the iPhone 6.

I never watched his videos before (or I didn't notice, didn't care, whatever xD), so I never knew. But lol, if you say so, it seems like he really reserves the "lag" word for Touchwiz. xD

Samsung needs to do a overhaul of it's touchwiz. Maybe with S6 / Note 5

There's a difference in the way Android launches apps and the way the iPhone does it. Usually when you launch an app on the iPhone an animation pops up immediately which is sort of a loading screen for the app. On Android it's loading the app without the fancy animation popping up. There's a speed test between the Nexus 5 and the iPhone 6 on YouTube. There's an immediate reaction from the iPhone when you press an icon and it seems as though the Nexus 5 is lagging but the Nexus 5 opened most of the apps first.

Love all the fans of Android making excuses why the s5 lost. It lost period and I crap that keeps being mentioned sh!t on the s5. Point being is that most consumers regardless of OS doesn't run a million things at once, often one at a time.. Like the alpha is even in the same league.

Did you even watch the video? The S5 didn't lose, it was faster in about half the tests. That was with last year's "32 bit fail" cpu and pushing twice as many pixels.

The 801 isn't a fail chip at all. I'd say it's more than good enough to run anything for the next few years. It's the skin I blame. Also do all those pixels do anything for you that the iPhone smaller pixel count doesn't provide?

Well, yes, they do. The provide a sharper, clearer image. My "32bit fail" comment was based on all the Apple fans here who called it exactly that when it released.

While I agree they make a small difference but the iPhone has a super sharp screen already. That was the point I was making.

They make quite a bit of difference.

Don't forget that the Galaxy S5 only runs at half the configurable transition speed at default than some Android OEMs do to make their phones seem blisteringly fast.

Dude what video were watching? S5 performs half the test better than the iphone6 and vice versa. Take your head up out apple's ass and realize they're no better than the competition.

I'm not being any different than the many idiot fanboys that act as though android is tops in all areas and fill all apple articles with hateful comments including apple fanboys.. Icrap, I I zombies ect... How about you take your blinders off and look at all sides

Um the Alpha is way faster than the GS5 because of the next gen chipset plus the lower resolution screen. You can argue that it's not in the same league as the GS5 because of the lower res screen, no waterproofing, and smaller battery but those things apply to the iPhone 6 as well. You can't have it both ways. You can't say the iPhone 6 is in another league and the Alpha is not especially since the Alpha matches or beats the iphobe 6 spec for spec.

In all these speed tests they always pick a Samsung phone as their go to Android device. Why is that?

It's not the fastest phone, but it is the more popular one. I personally hate the damned thing but what can I do?
