iOS 9 causes sound problems with various apps and games. iOS musicians – tread carefully

Well, folks, if there's anything we've learned, it's that new software updates rarely go smoothly. The rule applies to both Android and iOS, as both have had their fair share of troubles the last time major updates occurred – iOS 8 had problems with connectivity and TouchID, while Android 5 Lollipop introduced a memory leak and battery drain issue for many users.

I haven't experienced anything bad in iOS 9 yet but I'm sure they'll get it right by 9.1 Also, Lollipop didn't cause any battery drain on my S5, it only made the battery better.

"Well, folks, if there's anything we've learned, it's that major software updates rarely go smoothly. The rule applies to both Android and iOS" yes but based on my own personal experience, because Android updates take longer; they have had the least amount of issues; even though we have far more models. Example. When I was with VZW, I know Verizon wont release an update unless it is 99.9% flawless. They always take forever and are one of the last to update their devices. Not one VZW update have I downloaded has cause me any issues. Maybe it could be, the lessons I have learned doing Windows installs since forever. backup first using Smasung Kies/SmartSwitch, then copy all the folders on my device via Windows Explorer, do a full factory reset and then install the updates. Then I first restore my backup to see how the phone performs. If it starts to lag or have any issues, I reset it again and set it up as a new device, reinstall all my apps and then restore the data for the apps that specifically have files that contain stuff I need, like SNOTE and similar. Everything else is all serverside. With iOS, I backup with iTunes to both the PC and to iCloud first, reset the device, and then I put the device in DFU mode and install the latest firmware and then restore my backup. If that backup seems to cause issues, I reset it and just install the apps back. I only have games for the kid on the iPad so they really dont contain much data. But sometimes the backup just don't sit right. Following those steps, yes does take longer; but in the end I have not had any issues with doing updates. I am dishearted about the fact that Apple's last firmware updates have been so riddled with issues. It never use to be liek this. IOS4,5 and 6 went perfect great in my experience. But 7,8 and 9 have been terrible. (2) Updates in less than 15 days is something I expect from Windows and even Windows hasn't been like that for me since Windows 7. I think Apple has fallen into the same trap as Ford, Toyota and many other brands; as production increases the quality of each release goes down. For a company that has one tablet, one phone, one computer; they should have far less issues vs any OEM and they simply don't. But they charge a premium for shotty work. Windows is shotty work, but it doesnt cost and arm and a less to own it.. Same with Android in many respects.

I have an iPhone 6P and with the new update, I have sound problems with some apps like WhatsApp. With the new update my phone is lazy. Siri sound is gone with this update and other some issues. When I use and I press the home button to do others things in the phone, I can't play anymore the music in the background using the control center. With 9.0.2 the problem persist.

I know after updating to iOS 9, my iPad would think that headphones were plugged in when they weren't. Now, after updating to 9.0.1, that issue seems to have gone away.

NONE of my apps have sound after updating to 9.02. None of my game apps or any other app and I have tons of apps installed.

Even the YouTube app doesn't have sound! I can hear sound everywhere else but in my apps. Re-downloading app didn't fix either.

Updated to version 9.02 and now half way through calls the other person starts sounding like a Dalek and then cuts in and out until we have to end the call.

Since installing ios 9 I've lost all notifications of whatsapp. Neither ensuing updates have helped in that mattet.
