iOS 9 brings a new 'Low power' mode and general battery improvements

Apple outlined several high profile changes to its mobile operating system with iOS 9, like Slide Over (split screen), improvements to Siri and the platform's general contextual awareness, and various changes to built-in apps. One rather important change that the company literally glossed over, however, has to do with battery life, and it's well worth mentioning...

Nice addition but again nothing New. This is what every oem and manufactures should be gunning for improve battery life. However, you can only tweak the operating system so much. Now the hardware must come to play. Where are all the break through batteries technologies we heard/read about two years ago that would give us upwards to 2 day of life with normal use? Where is the bendable battery, the quick charging battery that charges to 100% in 5 min and last two to three days? That's the innovation I want to hear about.

Lol good for the consumer. Side Note* reading about iOS9 and Android M they seem to have a lot of overlap in terms of "new features".

Siri's awareness/GoogleNow every where, iOS powersaver, AndroidM/Samsung, Power saving mode and multi window

M: just introduced: App permissions, suspending apps in background to extend battery life during sleep, tokenized android pay, OS level fingerprint support. Yes it goes both ways... I'm kinda sad about it, as these practices blur the differences and soon they'll be the same. I liked that Apple had the AppStore and android had well physical keyboard. I liked that Apple had Siri and Android had.... I liked how Apple had full app permissions and android had bloatware. I liked how Apple suspended apps that aren't needed in background and android had a dead battery in the morning if you forgot to plug it in. Now they're nearly the same.

LoL while both operating systems tried to improve battery life you can't even pull up your "Apple copying" argument. Yeah google supposedly went out with some optimalizations on android. So how can Apple copy those android optimalizations and Apply them on a completely different OS ? They couldn't and they had to do it all themselves. I think it's a really terrifying fact for an iHater that Apple had done something for the consumers. And Oh iForgot, the supposed project volta in android l supposedly completelly failed to delliver that better battery life Apple is "copying" now.

lucky you, i was about to purchase a Z3, but they stopped selling em in canada. And the Z3+ uses the overheating SD810, so i'll have to get a note 4, but the note 5 is in the corner, so I'm stuck with an iPhone 4 -_-

Wow sorry to hear that. The Z3 is seriously the most well rounded device I've owned. Great screen. Decent camera, great sometimes. Excellent battery life. Waterproof. Dustproof. Front facing speakers. Expandable memory. Sleek. But enough about my phone. I don't want to steal iPhone's thunder.

Apple's incredible innovation, Lol my curiosity is. If Apple had implemented the first Android-saving mode or Samsung. as it would be the title of this news PA? Samsung copy Apple or Android grabs features of IOS, I think we deserve a new title for this news PA.
