iOS 8.1 launches on Monday; here is what you should expect

Apple iDevice users are looking forward to Monday, when they can download and install iOS 8.1 on their iPhone or iPad. The update will help correct some of the bugs that have been afflicting users of iOS 8. The most talked about new feature coming with the new build is Apple Pay. This is a mobile payment system that allows you to use your NFC enabled Apple iPhone 6 or Apple iPhone 6 Plus to tap a pad near the point of sale at a participating retailer, to make a payment...

I have clear wireless 4G home wifi, and it's terrible across the board, so I can't say for sure I have wifi issues lol. Looking forward to some 8.1 goodies and fixes. My wife and I adopted a kitten yesterday, and I've got some awesome time lapse, and slow motion vids of her at play, and pouncing on stuff. The camera is awesome. My 6+ rocks.

Isn't that why Apple is release an update Monday? At least Apple gets updates, android users have to wait on the manufacturer and the carrier..

Actually, Android smartphones can pair with Bluetooth headsets without any bug and pay via Google Wallet... Smartphones that work don't really need updates every week.

I'm paired up perfectly with my LG Tone Pro's and with my 06 RT Hemi charger. No issues bruh.

More bugs in your Apple, that's what you should expect.

I don't see and I don't experience any problem in my new iPhone 6. Sometime slow Wi-Fi connection only but for lag, never have since I get my iPhone 6 last week. Maybe only in your country have lots of bugs and lags. But here in Philippines never have experience about it!

I have seen some issues that were not present on iOS 6.1.4. For example, the telephone keypad is non-responsive while a call is in progress. It doesn't happen with every call, but when it happens, it is quite annoying. Another issue is the already mentioned failure to pair with Bluetooth devices (like car stereo systems so you can take calls while driving). Good ole Safari has at least one issue - if you have multiple windows open, touch response is slower as more windows are open. Safari hasn't crashed for me, but its response to touch actions slows down. Last of the issues I have experienced, is a bug within the App Store where if you are checking reviews of a particular app, you can only scroll through the first 30 reviews. This bug can be reliably demonstrated. The response from the Genius Bar staff person I showed the above items to was to wait until 8.1 is released. When I told them that I heard similar stories with iOS 7, they agreed, and said that 7 only recently got stable to the point they would use it for other than web content with Safari. At least they were honest.

I've yet to experience any of those.

Before I went to the Genius bar, I reset (press and hold the power switch, then power down) the phone to make sure I could demonstrate the issues. Another issue that is annoying is when ending a call, after pressing the red end call button, it takes like 2 seconds (one-thousand-one, one-thousand-two) before the dialer keypad is displayed. With 6.1.4, the dialer keypad would be displayed before you could say 'one-thousand'. This is another item that I can reliably demonstrate. Hopefully 8.1 fixes these items. VZW hasn't shipped my Note 4 yet, so I don't know if the Note is going to have similar teething items. At this point, the 6+ is a meh experience for me.

What phone are you using - I have iPhone 5 (wifes), iPhone 5s, and iPad 3 - I have an 2007 Audi A6 with bluetooth, I have not had any issues you pointed out - I even tried opening 22 taps on safari, and, nope no lag, no response lag, no scrolling lag even on iPhone 5. iPad 3 there is a noticable jitter sometimes when scrolling web pages like this one but that's after about 15 tabs open and loading the same time... What iDevice you're testing this on?

6+ with 16Gb of storage. One week into the Worry-Free Guarantee period. If v. 8.1 doesn't fix the issues, it is back to the store.

Didn't say they did, nor did anyone else in this particular thread. Your post made no sense, yet some fool liked it.

My point is that iOS 8 may run well on the latest generation iPhone, but people with previous generation iPhone had many issues with it, and many didn't even bother to update because of those problems with lag and whatnot...

iPad 3 (which was released with iOS 5, now running iOS8.0.2), iPhone 5 (which was released with iOS 6, now running iOS 8.0.1) and iPhone 5s (which was released with iOS7, now on iOS 8.0.2) NO ISSUES... two of these are more than 2 years old...
