iOS 6: minor tweaks that you might like

Siri on the iPad, Facebook integration, entirely new Maps application – these are just three of the 200 new features that are implemented in iOS 6. However, among them we spotted a number of improvements that did not receive any attention, but we think you deserve to know about their existence anyway.

Its times like these where I feel a lot of you guys are lacking intelligence. All the picture shows is that the interface has hardly changed, not the actual OS. That's a big difference.

Wow since u posted that I'm done with apple forever. I'm now an andro, and android deciple. SYYYYYYYYYYYYKE!!!

These pictures show how the GUI hasn't changed a lot. This update was primarily about changes to the OS (improvements internally). The GUI is simple and I believe Apple just wants to keep it that way... for now. Granted the improvements to the OS were not specatular so again, this should have just been an update to iOS 5.

apple should name their new os "ios 6 minor tweaks" thats sound good. the features they just launched is nothing to be excited or something innovative and it's already been in android and nokia. so sheeps don't be too happy for these features, you're too late to enjoy it. Android or nokia users will never get jealous.

Welcome to PhoneArena, where nerds spend their pathetic lives bashing iPhones. Why? Because everyone is enjoying their iPhones even though they are " late" getting features android have.

haha... good one... what they dont realize is iphone users never HAD these features so of course this is something apple wanted to package together and give it a new OS number... nothing wrong with that at all...

I think the point he was trying to make was that iPhone users are busy enjoying their iPhones with or without the new features while Android users pathetically criticize and observe. Based on the amount of time Android users spend talking about iPhone, my theory is that iPhone users enjoy their devices more than Android users do theirs.

I 100% agree with your theory. I actually made this account because of these iPhone bashers. I said the exact same thing you said before

And I guess no one will ever have to see your comments on an Android article again based your comments. keep enjoying those features apple blatantly copied or stole, depending on how good of an artist you think Apple is. I thought Tim Cook believed other companies should make their own stuff?

The only difference that I see is the name change from iOS5 to iOS6. This is already way behind Android, and so sill the next iPhone in Q3.

Based on rumors from people familiar with Apple: 1) 4" screen - Been around since 2009-2010 2) iOS 6 - Meet Android 1.6, which came out in 2009. 3) "HD" screen - Android has been having that since last year. Your new screen resolution still isn't 1280x720 4) Same old App Tray OS from 2007. I got this directly from articles on this site.

Seems that most of the people bashing this update don't even have iPhones. Why not go and troll a Lamborghini thread somewhere since you don't have that either?

I personally have nothing against an iphone - except it is small, with ok battery life, very slight, but present, lag in the UI. Battery removability would be nice, but a non-issue. The big thing is with an iphone, music and movies and apps can only be purchased via itunes. Also, Why spend 299.99 on a 32GB version of the phone, when I get a 32GB microsd card and a 16GB top of the line Android for less? Also, can an iphone let you change your notification sounds for email, messaging, individual people calling, alarms, etc.? Otherwise, I see nothing wrong with an iphone.

I luv Apple and Android. I have both what I cannot understand is the penis envy both have stunning attributes as an owner of a few devices and IPAD 3 and a Samsung Galaxy SII and a Galaxy Tab 10.1. Being able to compare over time rather than in hand in a few days, I have come to some conclusions. The first is that the IPAD 3 allows me to conduct business in a far better way than my Galaxy Tab 10.1. It surrounds certain apps such as invoicing, creation and display of business catalogues. The catalogues are displayed in the Ibooks with a visual icon of the catalogues fiest page. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 just cannot do this. I hate to waste time trying to find a catalogue to display by name only from a folder. That does not impress my customers. My Galaxy Tab 10.1 is ideal for games and movies but for real business apps, I am sorry Android developers have let it down. Not all people want to look at stocks they want to do business in sales. The shear number of real business tools in the iStore outweigh that of Android. Not Googles fault but developers who cannot recognise the business potential. I use my Galaxy for RR and for calls - it is superb in this area - luv it! The shear bickering mine is better than yours actually holds no water - it is actually what fits your needs, skills. There needs to be competition between operating systems otherwise development will stagnate. So what if Apple are only just introducing what Android has only now and in different ways. The fact is that both operating systems are developing unlike Symbian, RIM which seem to be lost causes. As for MIcrosoft I will reserve my judgement for another time as it may fairly well meet the sepecific needs of other individuals and maybe not you. I used to hate Apple based on owning an earlier iPod as it just did not fit my need, things have changed the OS has improved. It boils down to what your needs, wallet are. Here in RSA Samsung products are not cheap for the high end devices, niether is Apple. Yet you buy what meets your need specifically. The new IOS 6 will be as Icecream sandwich was to Android, Apple however did not leave out Tablets or Phones, it included the Ipod. So the envy must be is bigger better with so many handsets and so many updates on Android to accommodate them or Apple IOS for lest updates of apps. Just remember we hahad upgrades 5.1 and 5.11 a short while ago unlike the long lag of Android between releases, such releases leaving many Android devices in the cold to ealier versions of Android.
