Hope its good on efficiency. They've backtracked from the 950 which was stellar. Performance looking good over the 970

It's competition is available and upcoming Snapdragon, Exynos and Apple chipset. And it sadly failed in the test.

You do realize it’s going to be another 5-6 months before the Snapdragon 855 or the next Exynos is available right? I can’t wait for the Snapdragon 855 to release so I can remind you: oh yeah this is going to be murdered once the new A13 or Kirin 990 chipsets come out in 6 months. Since apparently you can’t appreciate something without comparing it to its unreleased competition that’s months off from hitting the market.

These tests are so pity. They test Huawei Mate 20 under its power saving mode”, not ”performance model. On the later Huawei Mate 20 pro scored 31000+ on antutu. Here it’s got 27000. Totally biased&pathetic review. Misleading.

What were the claims?

That it would outperform apples A12

Can you post the link where Huawei made that claim?

Go to YouTube and type “Huawei mate 20 pro benchmark performance mode”. I’m new user so can’t post link.

That is because these benchmarks were obtained when the phone’s “power saving model was turned on. They were just too pathetic to test it under “performance mode”.

Now that is a disappointment unless Huawei decides to cheat with benchmarks later on. Multicore, singlecore, antutu, gpu, everything is barely there. LoL. Newer Snapdragon and Exynos are gonna murder it. Hope to hear from Huawei trolls. Who keep harping about it being some kind of GOD.

We don't know yet if it's a disappointment. Benchmark scores often don't tell the whole story. We'll see how it translate to real life scenarios. Multitasking, Chip efficiency with battery life, lags after months of usage. People are too caught up on numbers.

Of course you have zero idea that Mate 20 pro has three power modes: power saving, normal, and performance mode. Did he(the tester) specifically point out under which mode the phone was tested??? It is confirmed that at least one benchmark here isn’t right: the Mate 20 pro scored 31000+ on Antutu under “performance mode”. But here it’s given 26000. Life test videos already coming out just wait and see their biased reviews here being debunked. It’s gonna be amusing to watch.

A12 is pretty much in another league here.... And i am sure that Huawei Kirin 980 benchmarks above is WITH CHEATING MODE...oh, i mean AI.

If that disappointing performance is with cheating mode on, i wonder how poor it will be without it :P

Turn on AI mode now. Maybe harder to beat A12x though. That would be one beastly tablet chip.

A12 is only about 5% faster than Kirin 980, unless you actually trust these “benchmarks” here obtained under Huawei’s “power saving mode”.

Dude snapdragon 8150, Exynos 9820 will launch 5-6 months from now. Btw, snapdragon 8150, Exynos 9820 has no chance against kirin 990.

there is big improvement over K970...battery consumption should be also good (low).

pretty yes.

They said they gonna beat apples benchmark. Oh my! I do remember android benchmarking mocks apple for having low benchmark and now its the opposite and everything doesn’t matter anymore.

Hmm hypocrisy is on both side. Apple people said benchmark didn’t matter then and when their scores got better, benchmark started to matter..

They said it was faster side by side not bigger numbers on a screen. We shall see in the coming days or weeks.

49. william857

These biased benchmark scores were obtained when the phone was not under “performance mode”. That’s why the scores are much lower than what the should be.

Not bad Huawei Intelligence. Big step up from the downright 2 generations ago 970. So solid gains on 845 on single and multicore. 1000 points higher than sd845 each. Gpu no match for 845. Other claims that it’s faster than A12 is just that. Claims. And probably the incoming A12x in the iPads will put that to rest. Guessing we’ll have a good time again looking at these when the next big snapdragon 8150 comes or Exynos 9820 is it?

Waiting on A12X to show a larger gap for the A13 next year. Antutu for A13 = 450k+ GB4 single = 5600 GB4 multi = 18,000 Who can contend these numbers besides Apple?
