Huawei Mate 10 Pro officially launching in the US for $799

As expected, Huawei just announced that the Mate 10 Pro is coming to the US. The smartphone, built to compete against heavyweights like the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the iPhone X, and the LG V30, will go on sale on February 18 via Best Buy, Amazon, Microsoft, Newegg and B&H. Pre-orders are set to open on February 4.

Rumors were pointing at a potential partnership with AT&T for the US release of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, but this isn't happening, at least not for now. Instead, the smartphone will be sold for $799 – unlocked and compatible with GSM carriers only, such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket, MetroPCS, Simple Mobile and Tracfone.

Given the price, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is far from an instabuy, but those who choose to get one aren't likely to regret the decision. As we pointed out in our in-depth Mate 10 Pro review, the phone stands out with impressive battery life, while its dual camera takes spectacular photographs. A 6-inch OLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio and a water-resistant, glass-on-metal body complete the premium package.

In addition to the Mate 10 Pro, Huawei is bringing the Mate 10 Porsche Design variant to the US, the looks of which have been tweaked for an exclusive look. In terms of specs, however, this premium handset is nearly identical to the Mate 10 Pro, save for the inclusion of 256GB of on-board storage. Those who don't mind spending $1,225 on a Porsche Design Huawei Mate 10 will be able to do so on February 18.
