Seriously ? R u kidding me ? It's so hard to change a simple thing as ringtone in IOS that you guyz had to create a tutorial for it ? Thank god i never bought that iphone 5 as i always wanted and settled for the Lg G2 :D

or maybe the Apple consumers have absolutely no idea how to do it because they are buying the phone just because it's an Apple.

Right that's it. It couldn't simply just be a slow day at the PA office. No, iOS users really needed this.

They actually do. iOS users are hands down some of the most helpless, ignorant, "hold my hand and do it for me" people I have ever encountered. Easily half of them say "oh I'll never figure that out, do it for me" when I tell them how to do a backup/restore on an iphone. Literally a six step process.

If you know how to set any songs as ringtones, then you can easily change your iPhone 6/ 6 Plus ringtones.

You guys need to realize that in spite of your claims of "iPhoneArena", this site is full of Apple haters and no Apple users in their right mind would frequent this site. (I do visit from time to time because I at least care a little about Android, but as far as Apple news and articles go, there are much better sources.) At the end of the day, all these "smart" arguments, all those "landslide" polls, it's all yourselves, brother.

iOS users aren't exactly the most.....independent folks around, and their deductive reasoning is basically non existent. Thus, tutorials for the most basic of tasks. iOS users, lol

"How to change your iPhone 6 / iPhone 6 Plus ringtone" That's very funny ask why? There has to be a tutorial just to change ringtone (apply custom ringtone)?

This is how you set the ring tone, using pirate or media from outside the AppStore. If you go to Settings-Sounds-Ringtone-Store and you buy the tone, you'll find it under Ringtones.

If this article isn't damning with faint praise, I don't know what is. Woohoo NOW you can change that ringtone! Welcome to 1995, Apple.

I always found this to be a bit greedy on Apples part. That I must pay again to change my ringtone to a custom ringtone ( a song ). Also, the uses of itunes just ruin what should be a simple change into a complicated endeavor. However, as many have said, most iOS users simply do not care about customization and go with the defaults as it conforms to everyone else with the same device.

It is this bad. I wanted to use a free ringtone from Zedge. I had to download the ringtone to the PC, get it into iTunes, transfer it to the iPhone. It was ugly.

When I set up my wife's iPhone 4S a few years ago with a ring tone from a song she bought in the 80's, it took me hours to figure out how to do it. The steps are similarly convoluted. It involved changing some iTunes settings, too. These instructions are for using a PC. I would be interested to see how it is done on the Mac. On the PC, you can rename the filename extension from .m4a to .m4r fairly easily. Is it just as easy on the Mac?

My mom was wondering how to do this, and my dad, A PROFESSOR IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, couldn't figure it out.

Wow.. it's easier than rooting an Android phone.

Actually, it isn't. It's pretty easy to root an Android phone. But even if you don't root an Android phone, it has ten times the functionality of an iPhone. you can change ringtones, or record your own, without rooting.

I love my Nexus so much more now. I can't imagine having to hack my phone just to change the ring tone. Apple is evil.
