How much storage do you realistically need on your phone?

You've probably thought about this before your last smartphone purchase — you looked at the phone's specs, you considered a microSD card (if applicable), you made a call. Would you say that you've got enough room on your phone? How much storage space do you realistically need?

Please stop selling phones & tablets with less than 32gb. The use user space is only about 5/6 gb after the OS & all the apps Can live with 32gn but prefer 64gb if no Sd card slot.

I could live with 32 gb if it were 32 usable. I've never needed more than 64 (even though I have a 128 SD card). If 20gb is used by the system and apps (the pre-loaded kind), then it needs to be 64 period.

16 GB iPhones have 11-12 GB of free space available.

I'm with you. I also wanna see an android tablet with the same specs as the ipad where it has the following: 1. Front facing speakers or Quad Speakers 2. Dual Camera system with Dual to Quad LED flash 3. 4k resolution 4. 128 to 256GB internal storage. With expandable storage of up to 256GB and is capable of using USB OTG. 5. No Bloatwares!

64 Gb is minimum. 128Gb will have its day but not today. And the other thing is 32Gb actually is fine, but microSD is a must.

I have over 32gb of stuff on my phone, but not near 64 yet.. so 64 works for me.

At least 64GB internal storage, plus a 256GB MicroSD card for my growing media library, them Netflix downloads, and my app backups via Titanium backup.

If you have a high-end phone and like to make use of it's high quality audio, then the audio files are pretty big. If you have an iPhone then small mp3s will do and 32gb should be adequate.

64GB realistically but I won't go lower than 128GB from now on. I record every video in 4K nowadays so.

I have 192GB now and am using around 75%. I could maybe do with less but there's no reason why I should have to. Storage is cheap. 32GB should be minimum with an sd card slot.

20-30 GB is more than enough for a power user with more than 100 apps installed and used. We live in 2017 so all the data is in the cloud or we stream it (the internet is cheap enough this days that you shouldn't have to worry about the costs). With iOS 11 I see Apple optimized further the size of the apps (a game I use is half the size it was in iOS 10, Facebook no longer makes 1-2-10 GB cache, the same goes for Safari and others). If one needs to make a lot of 4k videos, one should get a device with more than 32 GB, but for the rest of the world it's more than enough.

I am making do with 8GB ROM right now, but 16GB would be ideal. I also have a 16GB microSD card from 2010 (probably class 2) which still has almost 10GB free. With 32GB ROM, I could safely go without a microSD card.

I find 64gb sufficient. But I got 128gb iPhone. I'd happily save $100 if there was 64gb iPhone 7P.

I guess I'm one of the few nuts that enjoy putting unconverted movie files (about 3-4 gb each) on my phone! So I say never enough! Lol.

I have just under 118gb available on my 128gb iPhone, so, I can use a 16gb model with ease.

I can barely do 16GB now...32 is fine and 64 I probably don't need to clear any of my cache nor files ever again.

When I was an Android user, 32GB was a must. Main apps that took up the most space were my social media apps and my music. Now I switched to the iPhone SE with 16GB of storage and have been able to manage. I use cloud storage and certain apps I once had on my phone, I just use the mobile web version. Still, I think I would be better off with 32GB, but 16GB is doable. Once you find a set of apps you use regularly and use cloud storage, it's easy to manage and maintain.
