Here's the difference Vulkan graphics in Android N make (game video demo)

Android N adds a variety of productivity, security, and performance improvements, including native support for the Vulkan API. This would give developers direct control over the device's graphics processor. In turn, games taking advantage of the API can be made to look better – with motion blur, advanced reflections, water effects, and all other sorts of eye candy – without that having a detrimental effect on performance...

Believe that the Shield Tablet also suports Vulkan. NFS No Limits plays and looks great on it

When you search to find the difference, this means that there is no difference.

Or you just don't have a discriminating eye.

It's not just possible, It's comming soon !? iPhones got some monster GPU's and low-level API for some time, they have been running NfS like this since it was released. Why not write "Coming soon to android devices." instead ?

really dude? you do know that you get a stupid low res screen with an iphone ryt... meaning less pixels to push... The devices showed here will be either an s7 or a nexus 6p or 5x... those have way more pixels to push than an iPhone...

Who the f.ck cares how many pixels does android or iphones have to push? Gaming experience is what matters, and iOS wins by a mile.

Seriously? I remember the days when all Apple could talk about was their retina displays, but not since they are way behind the game, pixels means nothing for their fans. And iOS doesn't win by a mile, gaming experience is on par with every Android flagship, this is is 2016, not 2012.

only some game look marginally better on ios now most newer game look identical. In fact this will make it possible for android GPU to be really used. Did you know benchmarking for GPU on ios use low level API already? I am curious to see the increase in benchmark on gpu using vulkan on android. As both flagship android and ios device GPU are getting on par whitout vulkan with it i expect android hardware will be better but we will see.

Then compare it to the iPad then, does it really matter? Apple was always strong on the graphics department, this is undeniable. Off screen test should prove that

Why many android beat iphone in offscreen test then...

What marorun said is entirely true, GPU Benchmarking on iOS does use Metal API, and since Android devices are on par (in many cases even beat) with the iPhones in offscreen tests, Vulkan is going to be a game changer, even with 4x pixels to push!

You are talking like gaming on a 750p display is so pixelated you can't see anything. And how much "more pixels to push" ? Android games also run at 720p/1080 at most as the experience in 1440p would be rather poor. Then the actual display resolution makes no point, if you don't get a GPU that is powerfull enough to push it smoothly.

iPhones don't support Vulkan Vulkan is going to be used to develope many games on PC and Android (and Nintendo NX games too according to rumors) iPhones do have Metal, which is low-level API But Metal still has OpenGL's old binding model (i.e. less control/performance compared to Vulkan/DX12) AFAIK, Metal still lacks support geometry and tesselation shaders

Does the Vulcan API support last year SD 810?

Yep It requires new drivers The Android N update for the Nexus 6P (same for the 5X and 6) includes those new drivers
