Here is why Apple removed the 3.5mm headset jack from the new iPhone 7

Blah, blah, blah. What a bunch of crying. People have been using Bluetooth speakers for the longest. People are using Bluetooth headphones more. For the music stored on phones and streaming music Bluetooth is fine. You would think you are all audiophiles! Your music doesn't sound that much better on wired phones. Why be tied to a wire. If I want the best sound I fire up my amps, turn on preamp and spin a album on my turntable. Digital sounds pretty close be wired or wireless. Funny as hell you all think the end of the world is here, lol

That should be a choice for the consumer, not because a phone company wants to suck more money out of you. With Samsung, LG, etc. you can use Bluetooth headsets but you aren't forced to. Of course the other companies are just phone makers, only Apple knows what its customers want more than they do, SMH

Sony has done it, Samsung has also done it. And not just ipx7 but the highest rating ipx8. So Apple engineers were just damn idiots and making excuses?

I didn't see this article on PA. I googled the difference between IP67 and IP68 rating on electronics and found PA posted this -67-water-resistant-heres-how-it-compares-to-the-Galaxy-S7s-IP68_id85174 But thsi read here is betetr because it has no bias -

The only good thing I like about Apple is them promoting the use of the port hole for improved audio even if that wasn't their intent. Android and Co. have neglected USB better audio for too long. I won't use Bluetooth. I want HQ. But it seems like only ZTE and LG are making any strides this way. And it's way past the end date for mp3 etc. We all get so much data especially on wifi and download, there's no reason shouldn't be using a much greater audio formats. Except that corporations take us all for granted.

You can get good USB audio with USB OTG/Host because you can use your own DAC. Micro USB, Mini USB, and Full USB are not not designed to send Analog audio through the port, The Lightning jack also (Very likely) is not designed to send analog signals and instead a external DAC on the Dock or the headphones is used. If you want the best possible audio, get a USB DAC, OTG adapter to use with a phone with USB HOST support, and some Good headphones.

I don't buy iPhones, but it seems to me that the people whom I know who do are usually looking for a very user-friendly phone. My parents have iPhones. My boss has an iPhone. They bought them because, well, to quote Steve Jobs, "they just work." Dropping the headphone jack seems to go contrary to this philosophy, in my opinion. Apple is complicating something that doesn't need to be complicated. I think it's a questionable decision.

Just a lot of Iexcuses to conceal the real reason for this fiasco: Apple wants more of your money and wants to tie you down to their proprietary products, any way, any how

What a bunch of lame excuses by Apple. With their lie, they are basically admitting that they lack the technical knowledge or ingenuity to include their new camera and a bigger battery while keeping a headphone jack, and that HTC and LG do. Of course, it's a lie because they are just doing it to sell you extremely overpriced headphones and make even more of a crazy profit due to the user stupidity, ignorance, or both.

So, what if you don't have wireless headphones (or you're using your phone for music, like via FM transmitter, sound system in a gym, tape adapter in a car, etc) and you want/need to charge your phone? You can't do both...... well, that's a fail.

Lol, the blatant lies apple tells its iSheep, it's just saddening and hilarious at the same time how extremely stupid they find their users to be. Even more hilarious is the fact some of their users are actually as they expect and believe this BS they claim, going as far as parroting exactly as they claim. What's saddening, these extremely gullible individuals are fellow human beings. 'Cause of bigger camera with OIS? 'Cause they want to increase battery capacity? 'Cause of waterproofing? The freaking S7 contains it all, with better display, even bigger battery, and more components without the stupid compromise. Don't even need to do any history research to realize why all that claim is BS.

It's easy to make excuses when your iPad Pro ad insults the intelligence of potential buyers. That said, making excuses is lame territory for Apple and yes I know it's them, I could give a rats ass if it's who they are, they deserve to be called out for their fibbing.

Buy what you like and like what you buy. That's all. Buy bashing something you hate and then you say you own several of their recent products. That's going full retard.

Atleast my word substitution extension works, changed iPhone 7 and iP7 to "iPainful 7" and changed Moto Z to "Moto Nope".

you all are talking and we have not even seen reviews on the Airpods. From what I have read from folks who tried them after presentation, they say they work very well. I think they will be very popular. I know with the Airpods and Apple Watch, I will not be tangled up to n a cord anymore and with the W1 chip easy connect and stay connected. Tap to answer phone tap to give SIRI commands and 5 hr battery life the case itself is a charger for up to 24 hrs charge. Also 15 minute charge gives you three hours. Wireless headsets right now account for 83% of headphone sales now. You all keep whining, and a lot of folks have moved on to wireless anyway. Techie dude with the short stories he write, should be a fiction writer. We are moving on in the wireless world.

Hahahaha! Nice try Apple! So you're saying the audio Jack was the reason iPhone couldn't be water resistant, yet your Lightning port is open too, no problems there? I call bulls**t all the way.

When I wanted to buy my first ultrabook I was surprised to see it didn't had a DVD player, which I would have like to have integrated; of course it had sd card reader but I was used to DVDs; I end up buying a ultrabook (which was more expensive than a classic laptop that had a DVD player) and a separate USB DVD player which also costed way more than what it would cost to replace a defective internal one. Was it better in the long term? I have to say yes. Because I switched to flash memories, I switched to wireless almost everything (printer, internet), I hardly ever use DVDs/blu-rays anymore.

Lousy f'ing excuses. Samsung, Microsoft, and Sony put better cameras in their phones without removing the headphone jack. There are tons of Android phones with bigger batteries without removing the headphone jack. There are water resistant Android phones that still have the headphone jack. Heck, Samsung made a phone with an exposed USB-C port, exposed stylus port, bigger battery, bigger screen, is more water resistant than the iPhone 7 (ip68 vs ip67), and STILL HAS THE DARN HEADPHONE JACK! PA needs to stop making up excuses for this and call it what it is: a lame attempt to bolster Apple's headphone division (Beats).

My Samsung S7 Edge is water resistant, has a decent battery, an amazing camera....and a 3.5 jack. No comprise needed.

This is why Apple removed the headphone jack: $$$$$$$$$$$$$ Any questions? Evidence: $160 Airpods with a 4-hr battery life -Royalties from all headphone makers for having to use Apple's lightning port -Lots of money for lost Airpods and dongles needed to connect your wired headphones

How come there's a 3.5 mm headset jack in a COMPACT Samsung Galaxy Note7. It maintained an amazing camera, battery life and water/dust resistance. Where are the innovations Apple's talking about? Their engineers were stupid. iPhone 7 Plus is already a BIG phone yet they don't know how to fit or place its hardware. What a dumb excuse they have. How would they use their new lightning headphones with the MacBook CONVENIENTLY? I noticed iPhoneArena didn't went crazy when Oppo R5 removed their AUX port.
