Now that Adobe has nixed development of their mobile Flash player, it's time to look at HTML 5, and how it will offer similar content to mobile devices...

we are not provoking ...we are just stating..... I told you so... on the Apple article 1+1= 2... trolls were all over bashing Jobs and Apple and now come here playing victim...

you are just stating... "i told you so". a) that would be trolling b) you didnt tell anyone anything. steve jobs wrote a letter flaming adobe.. that is the extent of it. I hate to tell you guys that apple didnt win or lose some mystical fight. the bulk of the world doesnt use iphones. the bulk of the world doesnt use macs. Adobe is still supporting mobile flash , still developing flash for PC use, the vast vast majority of the worlds websites still run flash over html5 which isnt even a standard yet. HTML5 is the future, it is not the now. The vast majority of smart phones will still be able to use flash. Apple and MS devices will still be left out in the cold waiting for the new standard, while Android and RIM will be able to use both flash and HTML5. Adobe's decision to slash its mobile workforce has absolutely no bearing on anything else other than that particular piece of the pie. I really dont get why u guys think you won some victory that you had no part in. But hey, if u wanna party like u just did something positive with your life then go for it.

calm down...nobody is partying.. is just that for years you guys have been braggin about flash.,. we are jsut returning the favor.. if you are giving... be ready to receive.... also when we say is dead... is a figure of speech... we really dont mean is dead.. as it disappear from this world... so please dont play dumb... Adobe is catering to every OS ...but Jobs did had a saying on that... cant deny that.....

Like its been said before.. We enjoy the ability to use it.. We don't shun html 5. We just like to use the current standard. This BS is one sided.. Apple supporters get your head out of your ass majority of the Android users on this post aren't starting anything so get off your high horse.

@jobes. And that's exactly what separates an innovator from a follower. Followers like you just go for what's ALREADY out there, just like how android just rides on to what's already out there. Innovators like Apple, defies and resists what already exists for another technology that they surely believe is better. And html5 is a good example of what I am talking about. Apple knew that html5 needs to be adopted NOW (back in '07). But thanks to google, flash lived a little while longer on mobile devices.

So I'm a follower because I enjoy Android? Last I checked Android users didn't have the nickname with the word sheep in it..

gallito. i still have flash on my phone. nothing has changed. tomorrow when i sell an SGS2, it will still have flash on it. nothing has changed. next year when the SGS3 comes out, it will have flash.. nothing has changed. key phrase.. nothing has changed. i can completely deny that. Apple only has a 20% smartphone share.. less than half of android. you really think they are going to listen to the guy with 20% over the guy with 42% and RIM with another what.. 15%? Macs have a 10% share of the PC market to windows 90%. they gonna listen to apple over windows? come on gallito. a little common sense. jobs had nothing to do with it. outside of phone forums, no one is shouting "victory for SJ".

Wow remix.. u went there..ok...then why you are so concerned about overseas workers.. nothing changes..right?... you do sleep at night?... right you still live your life.... Samsung Lawsuit.... you gain nothing... in your life... who wins and why... but you still express your opinion.. the article is there.. you make whatever you want about it..for me ..flash has a 2-3 year.. life... you are optimistics...well good..for you... now my life always... with flash..without.....with care life continues.. and the sun still comes out every morning

the overseas worker's deaths are on the head of those that support apple. that is definitely not me. im doing the only thing i can do in that situation. hit apple where it hurts, in the pocket book, until they change their ways. Every time you buy a new apple product you just enforce their current business model which is slave labor. We gain EVERYTHING by the samsung lawsuit. If apple wins, they ban competition. If samsung wins, life goes on and we all get to enjoy our products. where have you been?? lol and im still going to buy you a standard syntax book for christmas. we are gonna learn you how to write semi-properly.

Hit apple where it hurts..... wow you are a one man show arent you?.... you not buying an Apple product doesnt hurt anyone... now if millions do it.. then.. it hurts.... back to Adobe... flash is great not going to lie.. but it also opens the door for other things... (well documented)..... HTML5 will be better... Adobe will make more money.. you will still watch your youtube videos... Apple will make money... see the quit your nonsense... and accept the truth....

thats the point. Educate the masses on apple's atrocities and convince them not to buy it. if enough people stop buying and boycott apple will get the message. I'm not the only one not buying apple products, or it would have more than a 20% market penetration like it does now. The media and crazed fanboys like to hide the atrocities, so education is the key.

Little by little the positives for Android against WP7 are erased... and little by little WP7 looks a bit better than Android. Maybe those predictions were right! I know I has happy with Android when it was the only platform that ran flash with no problem... And I was very happy with Android (my two devices were superb), but as happy as I was with Android I am happier with WP7.

PA, now that the biggest troll of them all has been banned, can we have a look at some of these others here? You guys know who you are. It's really sad to see blind fanboyism who think just because you like the sun, they say you must hate the moon. I can want Flash and also want HTML5 at the same time, our devices can handle it. If SJ didnt want it on HIS device, that is his decision. But my wanting it doesn't mean I DON'T want HTML5. If anything, all I've ever read from Android fans was that they were looking forward to it. But again, SOME iOS fans only see things the way they wanna see them.

@whatever. And you're the perfect epitome of a blind fanboy. You can't see the logic behind Apple's resistance of flash on their mobile devices. You can't see Apple's efforts to promote the progression and adoption of html5. Because all you can see is, android supports flash, and flash is more common. How can the web industry be encouraged to adopt or convert into a better platform html5 SOONER, if all mobile devices are clinging on and support flash? Steve was an achiever and a true innovator. He would not compromise and adopt a technology that he knows would not work well to achieve his vision. He's not a fearful hypocrite or coward either, who would support flash out of fear just because flash dominates and the iphone might be outcasted.

Oh, the perfect epitome of a fanboy...that stung! Whatever. Anyway, you are only proving my point. I said that was SJ's decision, so that means I was fine with it. But I wanted it on my device. Never had to replace any Blackberries or Droids because of Flash. So is it that SJ had no confidence in his product or what? And why would wanting what's available now stop development of future products? Did wanting an iPhone 4 prevent Apple from developing the 4S? Did wanting CDMA Rev A prevent VZW from developing its LTE markets? Did wanting plasma TV's prevent makers from developing LCD, LED or 3D TV's. No in all cases. So why would me wanting Flash prevent HTML5 development and why does my wanting what is currently the standard such a bad thing? Adobe did what they had to do to bring HTML5 out earlier and I'm happy about that. But the die hard iOS fanboys made this another flame war.

Perfectly said and completely unbiased.. Thumbs up. Gemini you can't speak for us and blame us for enjoying flash.. After all its just that widely used.

Gemini, I have been able to support and agree with much of your logic in the rise of HTML5 and the benefits of such technology. No one can really refute the advances it will make for mobile experience. As an Android user, I welcome this arrival and can honestly give some thanks to Apple for the coming of HTML5. However, I must offer the advice of taming your redundancy of putting Steve Jobs on the pedestal for every ounce of wireless adaptation. The logic in Steve and Apple's resistance to use Adobe in the quest for HTML5, was because they have the luxury to do so. His company is making record profits and sales without it. If given the chance that Apple was not what it is today, Steve would be no better in getting HTML5 where it is. Steve might have been stubborn, but he was also passionate about making Apple survive. Since he was not dumb either, If necessary, Steve would've eventually incorporated Flash into Apple's ecosystem. Steve was not the brain child of HTML5. He liked it and wanted it in his products. It was already initiated by Opera Software and other coalitions as the future choice. He used his power and the money of his company to act as the spokesman in marketing the technology for which he also preferred. Well played, but please do not confuse this as innovation. John B.

Ok ladies and gentlemen, let's put an end to those that say Apple supported html5. I mentioned it before, here I found an interesting ios4 vs ios5 table: before this one I could only test it by myself, probably those that defend Apple's deeds neither know what html5 is. 2 fps and no html5 webworkers support is how Apple was looking forward with html5. If Apple makes a phone that can't call you'll defend it aswell.

Android supported html5 webworkers since 2.0, that's q4 2009. iOS supports it now, q4 2011. Jobs wanted to destroy android: iOs first appearance 9 january 2007; google bought android inc in year 2005. The rich rule the poors because of ignorance.

Adobe satated..if Jobs with have been on board with flash since the beginning.. we wouldnt be having this conversation.... people please read he article.. it had nothing to do with Android... Android will adapt.. what is the issue again... and dont reply with history lesson... there are sites for that.....

We did, and we have a complete understanding of why they did what they did and we support it. That's what you guys aren't getting. Adobe has a certain amount of resources at their disposal. Put simply, it far more profitable for Adobe to dump Flash - which is active on about 60% of the worlds smartphone - and concentrate on HTML5 which could be used on 100% of all smartphones. It like Jobes said earlier, it like you guys were mad because we enjoyed having Flash. What we don't understand is why SOME of you iOS fans keep trying to say we hate something we want! SJ saying that HTML5 is the future is like saying there will be a Christmas this year. If he did, on December 25th some of you guys would say "Steve is awsome! He predicted this day would come, and all you Halloween and Thanksgiving fans are weeping now! Hahahahahaaaa!!!" WE ALREADY KNEW THIS DAY WAS COMING! And we knew you would dance and sing praises to SJ when it happend. We just can't figure out why.

and since when you guys care what we think?... i never said to hate flash... we Apple followers stated that we hated flash.. to begin with... you guys are being sensitive and going with something is not... enjoy flash... we cant stop you... why are you guys acting like we took your candy... so what if we say Steve is awesome.. how is that changing anything??.... lets be adult on these one... what we say here changes nothing.... ps..bring your android ninja...back.. and lets shake hands...

P.S. This is why even though we may disagree with many things, i will alway have respect for you! What other iOS fan would actually LIKE my Android ninja? Lol! But IDK about the the Ninja anymore. It didn't really display the fact that I love both Android and Apple devices. Someone said it reminded them of Moto's Ninja Blur, which the name never really caught on but just the thought of it being associated with blur was enough to make me look for something else. I hate blur. Besides, this is a classic! The National Lampoon's Vacation poster with Androids, iPhones and cell towers! You gotta love that. This should be down there with my other post, but you get what I'm saying.

---" What we don't understand is why SOME of you iOS fans keep trying to say we hate something we want! SJ saying that HTML5 is the future is like saying there will be a Christmas this year."--- Correct. No one can predict the future. The future is adopted and created by transitioning popular concepts or ideas into culmination. However, Steve loved HTML5 and he simply used his power and Apple's money to create the future whether it was right or wrong. John B.

Gking, like most people, i hate when someone tries to put words into my mouth and that happens constantly here. (Not saying you do that yourself, but many others on the iOS "side" do) Then they base their arguments on words you have not spoken(typed, same thing). I don't mind a LITTLE fanboyism in the debates here...EX: iPhone is the best. Steve rules! But it always turns into, "You Fandroids this" and "You Fandroids that", even when we agree! I know there are a lot of Android instigators on this site but I've never seen a comment where an we agreed but an iOS fans was still greeted with insults. JeffdaBeat, vette21 and a few others manage to be iOS fans, and criticle of Android without being disrespectful of Android fans. I just wish we could see more of that coming from the iOS "side". Slammer, thank you! In another Flash-is-dead article I was saying this was a self fulfilling prophecy, but you put it even better! In this case, I just don't think SJ deserves any credit for ushering in the age of HTML5 (even though that's how I'm sure it will be seen). It was going to happen with or without his essay.
