HTC to deliver 5 or 6 phones in 2018
Yesterday, we passed along a report that said HTC will go back to producing phones with dual camera setups, starting in 2018. You might recall 2014's HTC One (M8), which had a second camera on back allowing for the blurred background on portrait shots that we all crave these days. Today, we have a little more information on the volume of phones that HTC plans on rolling off the assembly line next year.

HTC President Chialin Chang says to expect his company to produce five to six different handsets in 2018. HTC is hoping to build on a very strong 2017 which saw the manufacturer release its best flagship phone in years, the HTC U11. The company also came up with the Edge Sense feature that allows users to squeeze both sides of the phone in order to open certain apps and initiate some activities. Some love it, and some despise it.

While it isn't expected to touch down on U.S. soil, the HTC U11+ is even better than the HTC U11. It offers a nearly edge-to-edge display, a massive (especially for HTC) 4000mAh battery, and a cool looking model with a translucent case so that you can see some of the components inside the phone. The U11+ also carries an IP68 certification rating, compared to the IP67 rating on the U11.

Since the HTC U11+ won't be coming to the states, we're hopeful that one of the new 2018 models headed for the U.S. brings with it the HTC U11+'s edge-to-edge screen, large battery and IP68 protection from water and dust.
