HTC shaves $100 off the HTC 10, offers new Red and Gold colors

HTC is looking to score some sales this summer, hence it has taken $100 off its flagship smartphone, the HTC 10. It also introduced two new colors – Camellia Red and Topaz Gold, in addition to the Gray and Silver ones we know. The new models will start shipping early October.

Meanwhile, the $100 discount is valid between August 18 to August 31, so think fast. The offer is limited to four discounted units per customer.

In addition to buying the $699 for $599, HTC also gives customers the option to buy the HTC 10 and a pair of JBL Noise Cancelling headphones (worth $199) for $699. So that's another healthy discount option to consider.

Or you could get an Axon 7 with the same specs for $399... And don't forget the 2 years of accident protection that is included for free.

That red is nice! The gold is not too bad.

I'd pick red. That looks pretty hot.

Nice looking phone but it would be even nicer looking if there aren't any generic looking home button at front. I still think HTC should have stick to their front facing speaker design ( they could have twinkled the design of the speaker), it gives their phone a unique character compared to other generic looking phone ( one plus, s**tloads of chinese phones, a certain korean company's phone ). I still think One M8 is the best android phone ever made and it was pretty close to perfection. Love the designer Scott Croyle. Love his creation. First One series phone now Nexbit Robin phone he shows how much of a talented designer he is. I wish Google hired him for Nexus phones. That would be a dream come true for me.

The gold color is available in my country a long time ago. I don't know about the red color but this one looks hot.

Red looks good, but the speaker is not loud enough for me. I don't care how good the sound from the jack is.

If HTC just established cost parity with the comparable OnePlus 3 and the ZTE Axon 7 ($400), they'd have a fighting chance. No truly compelling reason to pick an HTC 10 for virtually $200 more ($599).

Now my real question, is the Honor 8 a competitive flagship vs the Axon 7 & OnePlus 3?
