HTC has become the world's leading producer of smartphones based on Windows Mobile. It's he company's early advantage and the close ties with Microsoft that helped it stay ahead of rivals like Motorola. In the recently published, Top 100 of Information Technology companies by Business Week, HTC is placed third, beating even companies like Apple and Nokia. In terms of revenue growth and shareholder return HTC even tops the list, ranking first in the Fastest Growing and Best Returns categories. In the Most Profitable category HTC is ranked seventh.
HTC have recently acquired Dopod, which offer HTC products for the Asian market, and started selling phones under its own brand name, not the Qtek they used until now. So the question now is whether HTC will make it in the brand name business.
