Has HTC sold 40 million headsets, because they were first with it? I bet HTC has not sold 40 million handsets total since they first started producing handsets. Apple makes it usable and you will see all kinds of pics taken with IPhone 7 on a he taken by IPhone commercials. Come on HTC, since you were first., show us all the great pics taken with your phones......

M8 was a fail. There is nothing called innovation of the hardware and innovation of the software?? It's innovation.. It comes as the best possible combination of hardware and software. For that, it takes time. Samsung and lg and others just come up with the software ASAP to take the advantage of the market saying "we are the first"..... But that doesn't mean s**t and eventually it will fail too. That's why when when Apple implements something, it exist for a long time.

"But that doesn't mean s**t and eventually it will fail too." Yeah, and that's why we saw iphone's camera lose to other flagship. /S Still can't deny the fact that apple will always be late to the party.

That is deliberate, and when you take a step back it and makes a ton of sense. On one hand I do wish that Apple was more willing to push the boundaries given their monetary & intellectual resources, and on the other I totally understand why they take the approach they do. There was an article talking about how many large auto manufacturers are actually glad that Tesla is taking the burden of spending all this money on R&D in order to work out a lot of the kinks in making an electric car work. It is just work that they don't have to do, and they can sweep in and reap the benefits later on. That is largely how Apple operates. They wait to see whether or not an idea works and what the real world benefits and downsides are, before they add it to their own devices. Sometimes they are the ones pushing the boundary, but more often than not they collect the best of what is available and put it in their phones. Saves them time & money.

Wasn't the HTC OneM8, the one with the worst smartphone camera during that time. They also dropped it in their next iteration due to sub-par quality. HTC are just sour losers, they like Ray J saying to Kanye West, I boned Kim first, and Khanye be like, FCUK you dude, i'm boning her right now.

Actually the M8 beat out other phones in the phone arena blind test.

Having owned that phone, it was extremely iffy. It had issues with blowing out highlights & the photos lacked detail. But sometimes that often touted low light capability worked very well, and it would behave properly under natural sunlight when it wanted to.

I noticed this as well it was hit or miss, it took some real good keepers, but generally it was pretty Soso .

I hope everyone here is aware that Apple and HTC have a cross licencing deal if you remember your history Apple had won ( in my opinion a bad one ) a temporary injunction based on a now invalidated patent by the ITC, which halted their shipment of phones into the USA. It was reversed but just before and just to get the injunction out of the way HTC signed a deal with Apple. Thus it is not a surprised that the iPhone 6 6S and 6plus resemble the HTC M7 ( built and antenna bands). Now you are seeing the Apple version of the M8 Dual camera setup and stereo speakers. Apple has done a good job of using this licence to take of HTC's design no doubt about it. It is clearly seen. Weather you feel they perfected the design or camera the fact is that the HTC influence is heavy on the iPhone. To me the last great design the iPhone had was the 4 to 5 ( those are some of Ives's best and original designs). I have no problem with this as it is an agreed licencing deal but lets at least all act as grown ups and admit that the iPhone 7 has been influence by HTC M8. We don't gain anything from defending Apple, HTC, Samsung etc... They make millions off our backs and will make millions more so standing to the death, personally, for a corporation is not in anyone's best interest. Sorry for the rant.

This, a million times this, HTC and Apple have influenced each other HEAVILY, more than most people realize. I love the fours, they were my favorite I have a 64 gig one running iOS 6 that I use as an MP3 player

Is it really even a surprise. Every innovation apple does is a copy of something

If the dual camera was so great on the M8 and worth bragging about two years on, why did you ditch it?

HTC's dual cameras are like GB beaches: they were there but nobody wanted to visit them.
