I’d buy this over any Samsung or LG phone on software principles alone. The OnePlus 6 has some weight, but I don’t particularly like the company too much, so I’d take this over their offering too. Though I somewhat agree, HTC has made some bafflingly awful decisions in terms of hardware pricing and availability lately.

I am more likely to buy the Oneplus 6 based alone on its much lower pricing.

"I’d buy this over any Samsung or LG phone on software principles alone." Or brand name? Come on, we all know you despise anything made by Samsung, so your comment is far from surprising. It's like Techie saying he doesn't like Apple because of iOS, where we all know he simply hates the company as a whole.

I mean...what's your point? Did I say something particularly inflammatory?

I'm just saying, software won't be the reason why you would pick anything over a Samsung phone.

I would say software isn't always the deciding factor, at least for me, but it certainly can play a big part in which devices someone buys. I personally am not the biggest fan of Huawei's skin for example so I have no plans to purchase the P20 Pro. However, If it shipped with stock Android then I would seriously be considering it. At the end of the day, software is a very personal preference.

Haven’t I always said Samsung’s software was the main reason I don’t like their phones?

In Android world, I prefer Samsung coz of Samsung Experience Software rather than Android OS. Previous version of Android OS is fine but there should be Latest SAmsung Experience for me. HTC for me feels like, I might be soon out of support as the company is nearing bankruptcy.

Manufacturers shouldn't release a phone unless they know they've got something special and amazing. HTC is releasing something without that XFACTOR. They are wasting time and money.

What's with those last-year bezels ? Looks just wrong for 2018...pass !

Better to have bezels then a notch. They are not that big.

It’s only going to sell well in the US if the carriers offer to sell it. Seems like the big 4 here have all dropped support for HTC. It’s a shame since they used to be the gold standard for pocket pc’s.

Well... I was considering the U12 then realized that just like the U11 HTC has given up on the Zoe Camera. I specifically bought the HTC 10 for this functionality. I love using it with my kids. I end up making cool little video collages of them. I think my money is going to a LG G7 this year. When I think about it I touch myself...
