HTC One the first smartphone to score 1/10 on repairability from iFixit

The HTC One is one of the prettier phones we've seen in a while. It's got a shiny new aluminum unibody design, and looks great. According to iFixit, the aluminum unibody should also make the HTC One more durable. The trouble is that the One is apparently not designed to be opened at all, and scored a 1 out of 10 on repairability by iFixit, which is a score no other smartphone has ever received...

I'm fine with it scoring 1/10 since I don't like opening any of my phones myself. So it is not a deal breaker for me though I think the drop test was. xD

in my country where is no customer service for htc so its almost impossible to repair htc one if it has a hardware issue in the future so no thanks no need for a phone for its look but its almost impossible to repair at this case its better to bring the s4

Thoughts in the minds of HTC One consumers "I cant use a SD card, no external batteries, hmmmmn if I drop it then its pretty much over, well atleast it feels nice in my hands!"

Thougs of anyone reading your comment "Why does he care so much about people that are buying that phone doesn't he have anything better to do?"

Criticizing this phone was what I was doing at that moment. Caring about the consumer whos buying it? Not at all.

Two can play that game. "I can use a SD card, and replace my battery, but my phone feels like a toy in my hand." Oh and people by now should know that there are portable battery packs that cost roughly that of a new battery, and guess what? It can charge your battery on the fly! And it isn't exclusive to your phone so you can use it with whatever device you want!

" It can charge your battery on the fly! And it isn't exclusive to your phone so you can use it with whatever device you want!" What happens if your charging port fails or breaks out of warranty? John B.

Personally I'm not bothered, I've never had to repair a phone and tbh you replace them every two years or if you're like me every 6 months lol.

HTC ONE owners have a real problem 1 Buy a protective Case but lose that premium feeling OR 2 Risk it all and have a great phone until " wear and tear" makes it worse than plastic

What if I told you there are plenty of "premium feeling" aluminium cases, dont know how protective they are though

In that CASE ;) I would just get the SGS4 with a aluminum case. Best Of Both Worlds

Why would I need to repair my own phone? Im not a repair man! I have insurance so repairablility dont matter much.

They did say that each HTC ONE takes over 2hrs and 20 minutes to assemble. And with it being in such high demand it may be hard to fill the orders.

Wait, PA, this is a no issue, according to your review (One vs 5) you have to be a genius to change launcher and move around Android, so I doubt it if they would want to remove the back off this phone..

I have no use for removal batteries or external storage. My OCD just can't stand gaps, rattling volume rockers, glitches everywhere, manufacturing blemishes etc. HTC has a pretty poor track record, with me at least.
