HTC One going on tour, no plans to trash hotel rooms

0. phoneArena posted on 05 Apr 2013, 11:06

Like the rock star that it is, the HTC One is going on tour as part of the Taiwan manufacturer's plan to promote its new flagship device with three-different kinds of pop-up locations in 11 major markets; today in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Atlanta, the HTC BoomSound Lounge will open to allow consumers to experience the phone's BoomSound speakers...

Poor HTC, wasting tons of ads money just to crave some attention from people, just admit, you lost the war :(

Your poor attempt to troll HTC embarrass everyone here... HTC devices have been always great ones. To be honest HTC One X was better than galaxy s3 in screen, buid quality and identical with other aspects... The only thing HTC failed to do was to market it like hell like Samsung. Now they have got it right with the One.

-Fits the hand nicer.

-Can actually multitask properly with 2gb of ram and the recent apps menu is actually usable, unlike the one on the One X.

-Physical home button is great for easy wake up from stand by

- Power button is nice to press unlike the garbage One X one where you need to use two hands most of the time to wake it up or use one hand awkwardly.

-Better battery life

-Micros USB is not in a retarded position and you can text in portrait when charging on the GS3

-Sense 4 is a laggy piece of crap while touchwiz was smooth.

- toggles in the notification shade

- No crappy manufacturing defects out of the box. Meaning I can't push the screen in on the GS3 but can easily on the One X.

- Better camera

- larger screen

- A lot more accessories

- Micro SD slot

- Removable battery

That is just off the top of my head but there are a lot more. My first One X and the replacement were garbage.

Anyways, you don't have to take my word for it either. Anyone that have used both can tell you that the GS3 light years ahead of the One X. Just look at all the reviews and phone of the year awards that the GS3 won. Including the 7.8 score the One X received compared to the 9.3 of the GS3 on phonearena.

Of course you morons would claim gimmicks or trivial differences but they obviously make a difference to just about every reviewer and a lot of people.

you sir, @taters, are a blind biased user, my username may be HTC_PREP but I have owned Galaxy s 1, 2, and 3 simultaneously with the EVO, 3d, and 4g lte. the OG EVO was the winner against the Epic outside of screen and keyboard. the S2 blew the 3D out of the water on ALL ASPECTS, i can admit that. When it comes down to the 4G LTE and S3 they are mirrored devices that run hand in hand.

to address your points.

YES out the box the camera is better on the S3 but the EVO 4G LTE lets me tweak the settings so i can customize my settings instead of themes or modes on the s3

the S3 fits nicer in YOUR HAND, but i have larger hands for casual usage browsing and video i can access the entire landscape of both devices with one hand, the tapered edges and aluminium back not only feel better but fit better in MY HAND. i can feel every bit of warmth in the poly-carbonate of the s3 while the 4G lte stays to the warmth of my hand at the warmest, and I DONT HAVE TO USE 2 HANDS TO LOCK AND UNLOCK EITHER DEVICE NOR TWEAK MY HAND IN A WEIRD POSITION.

I have a micro sd slot and a 32 GB card in my evo and i have a 16 GB in my S3 and have yet found a reason to need to swap either, if i had a 32/ 64 gig phone i wouldnt need a micro sd spot. and truth be told I havent had to do a battery pull on my S3 nor have I needed to swap my battery for a new or charged battery on the fly and i havent needed to do either on my EVO for the fact that you can remove the batteery on the S3/ S4 its a matter of difference not a factor that makes it superior.

i use juice plotter and i get equal usage on each device. they both deplete in the same fashion if your a heavy user, they both last through the day and night (while running to the charger the next morning) if you're a casual user (voice text email) and they both go for days if just running WiFi.

and to be fair each device is rooted, running stock JB 4.1.2, and each device is using Apex launcher with the same apps synced weekly with Carbon back-up.

ITS OK FOR YOU TO LIKE THE S3 MORE, but dont bash the ONE X as trash because it didnt work for you.

and yes I will buy both the ONE and S4 in june (if the MOTO X doesnt materialize)

of and another ping in your argument the international version of the s3 had one gig of ram, so maybe you should specify THE US VERSION.

Look, even if phonearena gave you a whole point, which is a lot, based on preferences it still loses handily. 7.8 + 1 = 8.8.

You can't write off a 1.5 difference in rating by experts too easily. There has to be something to make that big of a difference.

And the reason I called the HTC One X garbage was because I wasn't receiving all my text messages and emails in the notification shade. And I had to pop the screen back in until it snapped into place. Plus my sim tray slot was sticking out. Very bad impression.

Why not try resetting your one x to get rid of some of those issues. I chose the one x over the s3 for so many reasons and I don't regret getting it despite some problems(overheating,etc.).by the way don't judge simply by comparing the rating that pa gave, we all have our own opinions.it is true that the s3 beat the one x in some areas but its advantages and differences are minimal and majority of the consumers wouldn't care about those things. The only reason HTC phones were overshadowed by Samsung is because of the lack of marketing

So the only reason that the GS3 outscored the One X, by professionals that live and breath mobile, was because of marketing? Can you prove that? That marketing BS is biggest load of crap concocted by HTC fans. they have no proof that the GS3 scored better, won more phone of the year awards, sold more because of marketing. That is just a poor assumption by butt hurt HTC fans. There is zero proof to support that.

The current evidence suggest that the GS3 sold more, scored higher, and won more rewards because it is flat out better. No other explanation would explain such a lopsided whooping in all areas.

The GS3 outscored the One X in expert reviews was because Sense 4 was heavy and the Tegra 3/S4 + 1 GB RAM couldn't support it. The Exynos 4412 + 1 GB RAM/S4 + 2 GB RAM combination of the GS3 was much better, especially when Touchwiz was lighter than Sense 4. The One X was "over-skinned" so to speak, or underpowered, depending how you look at it. The camera was mediocre at best as well.

Though I liked Sense 4 (despite being heavier) better than Nature UX, and I liked the S-LCD2 better than S-AMOLED HD, the GS3 was the better device in terms of overall quality.

It took Sense 4.1 that removed all 3D effects in the launcher and Android 4.1 to get the One X to match the GS3 in terms of fluidity.

But he's right ! HTC is wasting a lot of money with poor marketing attempts like this. This is not going to help them sell their phones. They should concentrate on much more effective marketing. Right now HTC is the less known phone maker..

HTC makes good phone but there is no advertising in India .If it wants to gain marketshare it should do advertising in India and china and of course reduce the price it costs closer to iphone now (puke)

Yep, its comparatively costlier than other brands flagship devices in india. Butterfly costs 649$ in USA but 816 dollars in India. Asus and HTC are the two companies who never understood indian market and hence they wont succeed in india

Htc will have a hard time battling Samsung. Samsung has lots of money in its war chest and is secretly being back by their government while htc like Sony have to work on their own.

But good thing you pointed it out to the public. so the uneducated ppl will be educated.
