HTC One Specs Review: A Jet Li of a smartphone

0. phoneArena posted on 19 Feb 2013, 13:31

HTC is one of our favorite smartphone companies. No, really. They have proven it numerous times that they can think outside the box. We've seen it in some of their earlier Android smartphones, which could easily stand out from the crowd thanks to their characteristic design features and highly-customized software experience...

Ultrapixel is a gimmick word never used by Nokia for their 5Mp Ultrapixel Nokia N95.

The N95 didn't have a sensor with the latest tech for the pixels. A 5 MP camera in the iPhone 4 is still nothing special.

iPhone 4 didn't have 'Ultrapixel' though, and a better quality camera with 5MP is very possible.

The hardware is great and the build looks good but there's nothing I see that makes me want this phone badly. Definitely wouldn't trade my N4 for this, even though the One is better in some regards, just don't see anything overwhelming enough to upgrade from what I own to this.

What about wireless charging? I believe I've read every article, blog, and watched every video on this device today and just realized I haven't heard anything mentioned on the wireless charging feature. Not that it matters this device is

It looks nice i suppose but only a fool would buy a smart phone for it's looks.
Smart phones are all about the specs & functionality.

With that being said I expect the Galaxy S4 to tie or top this, meaning that the following Galaxy Note 3 will top this or blow it away.

So, I'll wait.
If i'm wrong about the S4 & Note3 being superior I can still get this, most likely on markdown

Would have been almost perfect for me if they added a micro sd card slot because I carry a 32gb card in my galaxy s III at the moment, but it seems smartphones are eventually going to start going away from micro sd cards so I guess everything else about this phone is incredible and absolutely beautiful. Coming to sprint is even more exciting!

It looks like HTC's Sense is trying to make Android look like WP8 or is that being simplistic? As a non-technical type, why not just use WP8?

It's strange that how with such poor knowledge PA reviews a product even before testing it. hTC one's said OIS is not true OIS but a software based stablization with the help of gyroscope. The camera pixel are of 2 microns, that's good. But 4mp is too low to get large advantage. But if everything is OK it can take better 4 mp photos that iphone 5, GS3, xperia z but not better than that of L920, because L920 is not a normal phone. It has true spring and floating lens or hardware based true OIS.

I always check out this website for iPhone alternatives - microsoftapple.com - My personal favourite is the Nokia Lumia because of the camera and speed of the operating system.

you can tell everyone hating on battery obviously havent owned a htc phone since android 4.0. Samsung phones will never fix there radio issues and the fact that there interface is the ugliest one. or there ugly amoled screens that leave burn marks or look bad in dark rooms with black backgrouds. The htc one just raised the bar and the haters cant admit it haha
