HTC 10 vs iPhone 6s Plus, Galaxy S7, LG G5: low light camera comparison

Any phone can take a decent photo given plentiful light. When light is scarce, however, it takes a quality camera to shoot an image worthy of admiration. This is why our latest camera comparison is a little different. We'll focus on the low light camera performance of the HTC 10 vs iPhone 6s Plus, Galaxy S7, and LG G5...

I have to admit that both LG and samsung have a very good camera department engineers especially LG in the last 2 generations.

According to blind tests and DxOMark, S7 is the best, not the LG

should have switched iPhone 6S Plus with another 2016 flagship, like Huawei, maybe? or Sony X Series if possible. LG G5 did surprisingly well here. good job LG, been a fan since LG G2 days.

Very good cameras on all. I still prefer my S6 camera As I believe it is still a monster of a camera that really takes great pictures but that is my opinion. Anyway these cameras have come a long way. Any one notice the price of thos point and shoot cameras at their local electronic stores? they are dropping to below $190.00 for 21-25 Mp. And to tell you the truth I rarely see anyone using them anymore as Smartphone cameras are as good or even better now then the dedicated point and shoot cameras in some areas.

The best camera you have is the one that is with you. That, and the ease of use. If I carry a point and shoot, it must be on, at all times, to match the ease of use as the phone. Now vs the dslr? of course not. But I have taken at least a 20:1 ratio of pics on my phone than with my dslr

Too all ppl who said that LG G5 is not an upgrade over the already awesome G4 "Life's Good"

According to my pathetic mind, this test is delusional. No one should ever beat mighty Samsung unless they are fielded with patheticalness.

Your grasp of English is far too good for you to be the man in your pic...

So the G5 beats the S7 in a fanboy made biased comparison, yet the S7 destroyed the G5 in their own blind comparison... Go figure. I'll let dxomark do the talking and they say the S7 is better than the G5. iPhone Arena sucks

I, to be honest, I had high hopes with HTC 10's camera, this test shows that it doesn't perform as well as I've expected. Not even better than the S7... This tells you that hardware is not everything, software plays an important role too. I was probably wrong though to have such high expectations (no offense HTC fans...). Anyway, LG shuts hater's mouth up with this test. Congrats!

LG G5 had a much longer time to play with this sensor as its the same as G4 so they out of the box have a better end result. Both HTC and Samsung are playing with Sensor they never used before so they both need to tweak the software. I expect the G5 is at the top if not almost top if its game right now (software almost perfectly optimised for the hardware its use ) After some software tweak the HTC 10 should be as good if not better same for the S7 ( as long as they stop this oversharpening crap )

Hmm, actually that could be true but even the photos that came out from last year's G4 was not much different... Actually, I want HTC to step up their game, they have the best hardware out there, the 10 should be crowned best. I like S7's sharpening (if you don't zoom to 100%) to be quite honest, but that's very subjective. The 10 SHOULD be better than the S7, not noticeable, but at least the same or better.

PA should have added reference photographs to know which phone captures the most realistic photography

would be fair to compare each of upcoming comparisons with something like a full farme DSLR camera to know how it really compare to reality .

A smaller sensor but very expensive. I don't like it at all.

On low light, HTC 10 is using surprisingly high ISO numbers. Much higher than all.

first picture HTC 10 had the worst light and colors but the best detail if you zoom in its keep much more detail than any of the others ( but they forgot to say it i guess ;) ) Second picture look amazing on all the 4 phone but the S7 give unattural colors and detail are low... Third picture the iphone is clearly the worst of the lot, S7 is clearly the king followed by G5 and HTC 10 ( both G5 and HTC 10 have good and bad point on this one ) will make a new comment for the other as we switch page.

fourth picture well G5 did great beside overexposing the pic a bit too much ( liek the girl face) the HTC 10 had the most balanced picture of the lot.. picture five well nothing to say they where spot-on with the comment they said. Picture six i also have nothing to say the comment they gave look true. Will do a third comment for the last page

Picture 7 nothing to add they where spot-on. Picture 8 the S7 is the clear winner but HTC 10 and iphone 6S + do okay as well. So conclusion if HTC optimize the software its can beat S7 and G5. Same for S7 if they optimize the software its can beat the G5. What impress me most is all 4 phone did great.
