HTC 10 is being ignored in China; two top online stores report only 251 units pre-ordered

Earlier today we told you that HTC's long beleaguered shares were getting dumped in Taiwan. We blamed that on word that HTC is setting up a new company to develop other technology, possibly with a focus on VR. But now, some more disturbing news has surfaced which could really be the catalyst for a 10% drop in the price of the company's stock down to the equivalent of $2.29 USD a share...

HTC has really turned around this year. I don't know why there are so many haters all of the sudden. Not sure what could make this phone any better besides IP68 but that's not that useful to everyone.

I think the camera is good or excellent but late for the party cameras. Because change if existing excellent cameras. What else has the HTC apart from losing their identity with the front speakers? An LCD screen old ?? Or maybe a terrible home button.

Not surprised. No innovation just gimmicks. HTC smartphone is doomed. They should focus on VR tech since that's their only stronghold these days. On the other hand, I predict Samsung would make a big comeback within 2 years time.

Must be because of the history between China and Taiwan, for those of you that don't know Taiwan is actually called Republic of China, and main China is People's Republic of China. They kinda split on a civil war.

Before 1949 I believe, China had 2 parties, then the now ruling People's party of China won, and the other party ran ( they were almost killed by the people's party) to Taiwan. China (People's party) was weak before, so they did not care about Taiwan (and the other remaining members of the opposition party) that much. But now, Since Taiwan has so many technological advancements and high tech company, and People's party has so much more power, Mainland China wants Taiwan to before a state governed by the People's party. IMO, China should taiwan be a SAR region just like HK and Macau, but China would not be happy with that, because that would mean less control over the big tech companies there.

Maybe people are coming to their senses and realizing that this is nothing more than a mid-range phone with nothing special about it. HTC has clearly run out of good ideas. I would buy a desire model before this crap.

Chinese are stupid.. When below par devices from Samsung & HTC were sold at high prices, China was all up for it.... Now that HTC has come up with one of the top 03 smartphones in the world, they dont want it.. They love crappy Touchwiz...
