Who enjoys paying their monthly bills?  Nobody, really. But in India, Google has an app called the Tez mobile wallet that starting today, allows payments to be made in seconds. Adding a new company to pay needs to be done only once, and when those monthly utility bills are received, Tez alerts you to their arrival with timely notifications. The app currently supports 80 invoice mailing companies, including consumer service firms like Reliance Energy, BSES and DishTV.

You could wait for Tez to receive your invoices each month, but if you're the impatient type, you can personally grab your bills directly from the billers using the Bharat BillPay system. A few taps on the mobile device screen, and the monthly bills are paid from your bank account.

To commemorate the launch of the apps' bill paying features, Google will hand out to Tez subscribers a scratch card for every bill paid using the app. Each card gives a Tez user the opportunity to win 1,000 Rupees ($15.50 USD).

Check out the video at the top of the story for more information on the new bill paying feature available on the Tez app.
