G+ has made some progress, but they're not even remotely close to over taking Facebook in this area...

This is the biggest load of garbage I've seen in years. Think about it, how many people do you know actively using G+ ??? According to google, the number should be around a third, right? I'm sorry, but I can't identify a single member of my immediate group of family/friends that even knows what google+ is yet alone uses it on a regular basis.

Well....the rest of the world is bigger than your immediate family, friends. No one I know personally uses it either. But it has users.

All it takes is an account and browse around.....then you will see.

almost every topic has 500 comment (which is the limitation by google) if you explore well, yes google+ discussion is more alive than any social media out there. Why people think that this world only theirs?

I think most of the users of G+ are outside of the United States, I'm seeing many users in Taiwan... That's one sign that it's definitely gaining attractions.

Lol! The only notifications that I get from google+ app are those telling me that I have more of MY pictures ready to upload.

I don't know who want to convince google with this "news" but not me, google+ its a "limbo"!!

If only my friends would all be there G+.. **sigh** Anyhow, I find it better than FB in some aspects. Heck! It doesn't apply any compression to your uploaded photos, something FB should learn..

Someone mentioned last week they didnt like that Google made you have a Google + account to do app ratings in the Play Store now. I mentioned it was probably to help Google+ grow.

My lil theory might have been right. Cuz I still see new app ratings every day. And once you have Google+...and start looking around.....you might stay and see what else is there. You might actually like what you see. I barely use it now....but I do use it. Even if its to read up on the latest things from Google that hasnt made the news wire yet.

I really don't think there are as much google plus active users, for some they just stumble upon it cos of the unified user account system of google. For me I don't find it interesting cos of all my about 900 friends on Facebook only 3 use google plus and non from my phone book. So what's the point?

People just love to give out info about themselves. I can see a future where everyone is forced to join a collective. You can't go anywhere without everyone knowing who you are. A sad world we will live in, except Google and Facebook as they will rule society.

Personally speaking, I think this is due to the G+ bottoms you can find on every blog or websites.

I love G+, all my photos are synced from PC to picasa automatically. I could easily share those photos via G+ with a single click. Not to mention I could hangout with my wife and kids when I'm away from home. The only complicated part compared to Facebook is the friends/connections part. Circles require a lot of time to set up while Facebook friends can be very simple to be just a click to accept or request friend, once Circle is set up it's very powerful (Of course FB has something like that too, but I doubt many people actually set it up). There's just so much on G+, yet no one knows about it. If Google actively pushes G+, then it'll surpass Facebook earlier than expected.

The way google+ works is not so much as a facebook alternative, but more of a Twitter alternative where you follow people who share your interests or who just post interesting stuff.

I'm surprised Orkut isn't mentioned here with Facebook having almost entirely replaced it in Brazil as the most used social network overall

This is quite questionable, but like most people have pointed out, you're pretty much FORCED to have G+ account if you want to do basic things, such as commenting a YouTube video or writing a review for the Play Store. I have a FEW friends that HAVE a G+ profile, but they don't actually USE it.

I dont know...I connected with a few ppl I havent seen in many years. If it wasnt for Facebook...I probably woulda had to play private investigator. During the last blizzard the DC area had.....I got closing alerts thru Facebook posts. Yea.... it was going up on FB faster than the OPM site.

Most of the android devices almost force you to join Google +, but I have not seen a single soul who actually uses it as social interaction.
