Google re-brands its various stores as Google Play

We had been hearing the name Google Play for the past few days or so. Some had thought it was going to be the name of the upcoming Nexus tablet, but it turns out Google's plans for the name are a bit less interesting...

I understand the sentiment behind the re-branding... it's the execution I question. Sometimes it just seems like the lines of communication are just not open in the Google offices. Have they not heard of services like Gmail, Gtalk, and Google+ to stay connected either?

this shall be interesting. one day on android world, person: -picks up phone to on android market- -goes to look for android app- -keeps scrolling like an idiot looking for android app- Response: WHERE THE FXCK IS THE ANDROID MARKET?! -Google Play quietly sits on the apps list, unnoticed- Yeah, I can picture this. This will probably be me.
