I will stick with the Pixel 2 XL for another year. Maybe Google will get the notch out of their system and remove it for the Pixel 4 XL.

The Pixel 3 doesn't seem to be that big of a leap in improvements from the previous version.

a fresh battery is good enough for me. cant wait to leave my current pair behind: iphone X and nexus 5x. wifey has pixel2, its a dream. worth waiting for pixel3.

IF the phone has MST and IF Google can guaranty software support for at least three full years (five would be ideal) then maybe I would consider spending nearly one thousand dollars on the phone. I'm trying (hoping) to fully migrate to all Google/Chrome OS but the products and support just are not there yet. Not in the kind of reliability and harmony I want.

I'll sit this out, probably go for the Galaxy S9. I paided too much for the Pixel 2 with LCD burn-ins and such.

First of it's "paid". I would also point out that neither the Pixel 2 nor the 2Xl have LCD panels. The issue of burn in affects the early 2XLs only and Google does give you a 2 year warranty!

Nope, not my cup of tea. Anything in a smartphone, over 500 dollars, it just wasting money in my opinion. But, if you feel ok with spending 800-1000+ on a phone, that everyone will tell you to trash and replace in 24 months, feel free.
