That notch hurts my eyes... I really hope that's not the real design because I'm considering switching to the pixel, and finally leaving Samsung.

I'm in the exact same situation. The reason why I got every galaxy phone since the s6 is that the pixel phones are really not appealing design wise. And it's a shame. Bring a very nice design Google and I'll jump on the wagon

Amazing how stupid the US consumer has become??? Complains about phone designs right after 98% of them are covered up with a case. Where is natural selection when you need it?

Good luck covering the front of your phone with a case. Maybe you are another prospect for natural selection... ever thought of that?

The black bar hides most of it and the pixel 1's features have been very impressive. I'm sure you could get over it if the phone is amazing enough.

Make the switch. You will not regret it. I had plenty of Samsungs, including the S8, but sold it because I couldn't stand the "bloatware" and their assistant "Bixby" (button). When I got the Pixel 2XL, I was blown away at how much faster and smoother Android ran. I loved not having all those damm Samsung apps. The battery life on the Pixel compared to the Samsung's was night and day. I will never buy any other phone unless it's pure Android. Try the Google phone. You'll be amazed compared to Samsung.

You're so full of s**t. Just by reading your comment I highly doubt you had a Samsung at all. I also had the S8, currently using S9+, and all those Samsung apps could be completely UNINSTALLED...If I used every drop of juicy the battery had, I was easily able to pull a full 24 hours off a single charge. After using Bixby, it's been more useful than google assistant. Pixel is a good device put you people who swear by pure android can be quite ridiculous and talk out of your asses.

For the record, you cannot uninstall Samsung apps only disable them, believe me I tried...from a S9+ user!

i have a pixel 2, iphone x and nexus 5x. the notch isnt a big deal and android p will have ways to black out the rest of the notch if you hate it. i enjoy the nexus 5x more than the iphone x, ive had disappearing photos issues and even with all the google apps installed android 8.1 creams ios in every way. the pixel 2 is a dream phone. and google's photo storage (high res for free on pixel) is a dream. apple has fallen way behind.

After a Samsung I chose the p20 pro with a notch. I hoped I would get used to it and I did in a blink of an eye. You can hide it more or less but after awhile I didn't even bother with that. So don't worry too much about the notch however the apps seems a little confused about that especially messenger always jumps the screen I guess because of the ui needs to align . Anyway after a Samsung the Huawei is so freekin' fast. I usually like Sammy's phones but the way touchwiz got lagging is killing me.

Higher and Higher prices, but it's business. It's our fault (customers), we are willing to pay so much for phones.

its because we can make the payments and do not want a contract. But in all honesty the device payments are basically the same thing as a contract

Majority of users. Don't care about a notch or not. But only. One camera no Google no. Don't care about xl version though.

So you have dual cameras but they take poorer pictures than a phone with a single camera...the P2XL still takes some of the best pics around and is generally considered to have the best camera.

Another day, another article spawning a comment section filled with crying notch-haters.

Yes, probably from people who never try to use a phone with a notch for a week. Haters just for the pleasure to be a hater.

Would you buy a TV with a cut out at the top? How about a car with a windshield that's cut out at the top? To each his own her own, don't put people down because we want a full screen

The problem with notch whiners, as shown in your comment, is the ignorance to know that the notch doesn’t cut down into the screen, it goes up into the bezel.

I'm excited to see what the new pixels will bring to the table. Hope Google has some surprises in store for us!

You guys are really making the notch feels like it is the end of the world, probably this wild voices are coming from people who actually don't have one phone with it. It is NOT that bad. I have the Oneplus 6 and I like it a lot! Most of the time you don't even realize that it is there and there's some guilty pleasure while scrolling thru the settings and pages.

By the way, I am selling my S8+ because I love my OnePlus 6 (and there's a little crack on my S8+ screen) and I never was bothered by the notch. I kind have this guilty pleasure, so move on guys. Buy one and give it a try, don't be a hater without even try using it for al week

No. I love the original Pixel XL. 2 years old and just got a new battery. Good for another 2 years.

You're right. Cancel the Pixel 3 Google! He just got a new battery, we don't need a new phone anymore!

Yeah see the pixel cosmetic looks and price kill it for me as a former Nexus user for years. They got too umm, metro looking I guess. Hiring HTC engineers I think ruined it but that's just my opinion.

If they just remade the 6P with more screen to body ratio, new internals and actually quality tested batteries.....gosh that was a sexy phone
