when you hate it, then you have no more idea than copy it; but actually fail to copy it; then actually uglier than the things you hate..

To avoid making notch display cut on pixel 3 rather than on pixel 3 xl.

I don't see why everyone is complaining about the chin. It has a speaker on it so it's not like it's just there out of lazy design. I'd take sterie front firing speakers over a back or bottom firing one any day.

Not with a compromised chin like that. While I applause the retaining of the dual front speakers, in this day in age a chin that large can't be.

Do people use the speakers on their phones that often? If I'm playing something with my phone, it's usually into headphones or an external speaker.

These cutouts may not be the final designs so there's still hope for the square design...

Nice photoshop. It's hard not to notice how ugly the XL is, however in recent times Google has done really well to slowly "Googlise" their version of Android to the point where the mere stock Android phones from One Plus/Moto feel like they are missing something. Nokia gets close with the Android One initiative, but it falls short in other departments. For me personally that pure Google experience is what draws me in, just like with the iPhone, the full hardware software sync is something I prioritise the most. Yes I wish it wasn't this ugly, for real man, why can't these people just make a nice slab minimalist, thin beautiful phone? But that Camera and Software experience is enough for me to put up with this ugliness. Also the 2 XL looked worse in pictures than it did in real, also even if you get used to the 3 XL, the good news is you have something to look forward to in the 4, a better design! Now to empty close to 1300 Aus for this phone :(. I will be crying as I put down the money.

Google would never put a notch on its flagship.. Its a competitor's differentiation. Only asian companies would put the notch on their devices unless us companies are that unprofessional..

Pixel 3 (non-XL) is looking pretty decent. I'm thinking this will be my next phone. I just have to use a Galaxy S6 for the next 5-6 months.

You don't like the Galaxy S9?

Please be real for the smaller Pixel 3. If Google keeps the front firing speakers that would be great. Also if they put two cameras in the front there's no doubt that the rear cameras got the same treatment. Hope they went 3X telephoto like Huawei rather than 2X but with 12mp.

Hi! I'd like Google to explain why it will implement the notch on the screens in one of its Pixel phones, because Apple, when it launched the iPhone X, they explained the reason for notch implementation. I'd like, also, all these tech guys, like Phonearena, Technobuffalo, CNET, The Verge, etc, Will you ask that question to the Google, why the implementation of the notch in the new Pixel 3XL? That would be brilliant from these guys of technology and not just to show and talk about the features and functions of the device. Greetings and I hope that you ask that kind of question to the asshole of Sundai Pichar!

Not a fan of the notch, but the one on the XL here at least makes more since than on the OP6 or the G7. The dual front cameras in such a small place is actually quite impressive. And thinking about the design of the smaller Pixel 3 stretched out just doesn't seem too appealing in my mind. Also, the chin housing the front firing speaker gives it a reason to exist. Just my 2 cents.

Photoshop imagining of the two phones doesn't look bad at all liking the pixel 3 one.

If chin has speaker, great. Notch does not bother me at all. Good looking phones. People get so unnecessarily upset about the notch design. Wait til Samsung gets one >:)

Is there a practical reason for the rounded corners on the screen, or just aesthetics? I like the completely rectangular screen on my Pixel 2, and how the rounded corners of the outside are less rounded than other phones.

it would be great if Apple went ahead and announced they're ditching the notch it would give Google enough time to adjust an follow suit lol

Notch is a useless trend & even this "infinity edge display" trend .. we need to have something to hold on.

NOT having a headphone jack is a DEAL BREAKER 4 me! I have the first gen Pixel XL. I use my headphone jack for my wired headset as I drive from job to job and also use it to plug into a bunch of other headphone jack style equipment. I DO NOT want to use an adapter. I charge my phone while driving with my wired headset plugged in. And the way I use my phone, my battery dies fast which is why I keep my phone charging while driving. I don't want the bluetooth radio headset on my head. I use a blackberry wired headset, which sounds great by the way, and want to keep it that way. I would have bought a Pixel 2 but Google, who bitched out Apple for NOT having a headphone jack got rid of it!!!! For me, total deal breaker and on top of it, total hypocrisy.... I mean you poke fun of Apple for getting rid of it then Google follows suit with the Pixel 2.... WTF!!! GOOGLE, PLEASE , WITH A CHERRY ON TOP WITH EXTRA WHIPPED CREAM BRING BACK THE HEADPHONE JACK! I USE IT EVERY DAY! AND I DON'T WANT TO CART AROUND AN ADAPTER TO HAVE A HEADPHONE JACK! Otherwise, Ill move to a different brand at some point. Samsung still has the headphone jack.
