when you buy from Google Fi with the discount, there's a warning and Terms of Service Agreement which states they can not commercially resell the phone. no lawyer will take that case.

the deal is you buy a phone through project fi with project fi service... period.. There are no contracts with project fi. cancel anytime with project fi. purchase a phone. not lease a phone or license a phone.. purchase a phone. Supreme court has already ruled on this sort of thing , you purchase it , you own it, you can resell it. im not defending the act of the people , but, i am defending the law of the land in the USA If a company sells something , then they too have to abide by the laws.

Apps are more likely to crash on an iPhone and OS updates are more likely to cripple your iphone than if you were to go with an Android device.

Great move google. Unlicensed middlemen will give bad reputation to your product since they won't offer warranties. Though Google should also look at having legit asian distributors as I don't like buying my products from grey markets.

If I understood it correctly (or correct me if I didn't,) how are you supposed to buy a Pixel in a country where the Google Store is literally not supported? If I bought it from a mall store do I run the risk of said Pixel ending up a paperweight (because they have to get Pixels from a reseller in this country and then ship and sell it to my country because Google themselves literally won't offer the Pixel to my country ?)
