The Google Pixel XL will be a pretty large smartphone, but not larger than the Nexus 6P or the iPhone 7 Plus...

My goodness...that looks great. It makes me think about how great the iPhone would look if they trimmed those got damn bezels. Looks like this phone will take the second place spot in terms of looks, right behind that sexy Note 7.

Android phone of the year for sure. Black one looks good. Black is the new black.

Android Police says it's a very dark grey with black glass.

I saw that as well. Not sure I would like a two-toned colored phone. Let's see what happens.

No phone with crappy S820/821 can be phone of the year.

Explain yourself. The 820 in my G5 is much better than the 808 in my G4. Regarding battery and speed. Of course 4 gigs of ram help.

Agreed Also I'm happy they used a "teardrop" design (thicker at the top, thinner at the bottom, e.g. like the MacBook Air) Ideally it would be flat, but this is better than having a camera bump

Good point.

It does look great on the video, was actually surprised it looked this good. And love the chamfered edges.

Agreed. I remember you mentioning you might pull the trigger on one upon release. Which size would you get?

XL for me. Since it will be replacing my Samsung S7 Edge. Currently use a Nexus 5X as well for work and love the smaller screen size. But wouldn't miss out on the big screen either. Would get the black version with the largest storage option, since I'll have to do without my sd card.

yeah, love the chamfered edges too. But as for me, I might get the XL but tempted by the size of the regular pixel as asied the screen resolution there seems not to be that much of a difference between the two. Same camera, same storage, same speaker, same software and even the exact same design.

Good point. XL would be nice but I'm starting to miss smaller phones. Not too small, but in the 4.7" -5.2" range.

Choices man, they suck sometimes haha. I like the real estate on bigger screens, but sometimes typing or just clicking on stuff is so much easier on a 5"ish screen. On the Nexus 5X I use for work, the smaller screen is so much handier when all I do on it, is message/email/projects & tasks. But for media/webbrowsing/gaming, the big screen rocks.

it's ugly like the HTC M10, and iPhone6. Chamfered phones looks ugly.

Only looks won't matter if it still explodes..........lol Anyway iPhone is way more beautiful than this plastic crap.

First, wrong company (exploding) and second this is an aluminum case (plastic crap). Is reading comprehension dead?

Apple has no interest in making the best phone possible each year. That is what frustrates me the most. They plan out years of incremental iterations.

big bezels, especially on the sides.. and on screen buttons taking up too much of the 5.5" screen.. no thanks. Shrink the bezels and make it 5.8" and I'd consider it. Note 7 has by far the best design for a big screen phone right now.

Not bad. This render makes it tough to see where the bezels begin and end, thus making the phone look like it has very minimal bezels. Keeping the hype meter down. Waiting for the facts on the 4th.

There is more to design than minimising the bezels. I'm so fed up of listening to bezel obsessions, particularly now that the era of small top and bottom bezels has finished some 2-3 years ago (e.g. Samsung has been consistently increasing the bezels since the S5). Other than that, it looks like it will be a sexy smartphone.

I agree with you. Bezels don't bother me as much as other people. I was just remarking how this render makes them seem minimal. Based on the leaks, I'm almost sure I would purchase the XL. The facts on the 4th may keep me saving my money.

The picture underneath the video shows how this is nothing but a carbon-copy off the iPhone 6.
