Google Maps with multitouch now for the Motorola DROID
Even though you can install the (unofficial) new Gallery app with multitouch on the Motorola DROID, it appears that Google has got one better. Today on the Android Market you can install the newest version (3.4.0) of Google Maps, which also comes with multitouch built-in. As this is the first official Google app to support multitouch for the DROID, we were eager to try it out. After the download and installation were complete, we loaded it right up and could easily zoom in and out by using two fingers (pinch-and-zoom), but you can still zoom by double-tap and by using the magnifier icons on the bottom-right corner. Now it would be nice if Google could provide a browser update with multitouch for the DROID.

Which is dumb. Everybody critisizes them and then later go and steal it's technology. That seems just about right.

lol i guess the .. "pinch" part of the equation would be left out.. so it would just be one finger zoom.. i dont get what is so great about this pinch zoom crap.. i have the droid and its very easy to double tap the exact location with.. one finger....*crickets*... if i had to use two fingers for that .. i guess.. id be.. well... tired .. or ... more entertained.. its like browsing the web while talking.. seriously i dont know one person whose ever phoned a fried on a gameshow.. thats about the only time id ever use that too.. i really think the only reason why people want this is because its on the i phone.. just like why people even want that... the damn letter "i"
