Goldman Sachs analyst confirms $1,000 price tag for Apple iPhone 8

Early in February, a source claiming to have some inside knowledge about Apple's purported ten-year anniversary handset, said that the so-called Apple iPhone 8 would carry a rather hefty price tag. According to this "insider," the Apple iPhone 8 will be priced at $1,000. Considering the rumored technology said to be on board the device, this might not seem so crazy...

They can proudly charge that without offering anything, so long as they have these guys ( https://is.gd/NU0MKA ), it'll still sell in millions...

It will cost in my location around $1500+. The price is really affordable. Thanks Apple in advance for keeping the price tag COMPETITIVE..

It's amazing how Apple does market research. This is an Apple leak to see how folks reach to that price leak. This price will spread like wild fire the next few days or week and people will either take it in stride or they will start grumbling about the high costs. That will let Apple know how much they can price this thing without a backlash. Apple do this all the time, they did it with the iPad and some of their other products. I can almost guarantee it will not start @ $999, it will start at either $799 or $869.

It would be suicide, especially when the s8 has the same sh!t & is $150 cheaper. This phone will do nothing but push 7/7s sales up at that price.

That never mattered to iFans, they defended the headphone jack removal for the love of logic. The argument was that it pushes wireless, even though every other phone has an audio jack AND wireless (including older iPhones). This time they will say that Apple magically fixed the OLED burn in issue they've used as a rationalization so far and they've already started BSing like Apple "inventing" the 3D sensing camera which many reliable analysts have already written off as a fairy tale this year.

S8 doesnt have the FPS built into the screen. It doesn't have the cameras and sensors under the screen. It most definitely don't have the dual camera on from and back with innovative 3D sensors. It doesn't have the A11 chip. Keep in mind that the S8 can barely keep up with the IPhone 7. Also remember, this is just stuff we know about!

Don't believe that under the screen camera thing. It is possible, but not without serious drawbacks. For example you can put a camera under transparent OLED screen, but it's not that transparent. So camera output will be terrible. Think about how even a fingerprint smudge affects the image quality. Also transparent OLED display quality probably won't be good as standard OLED. It's also possible to make a cut-out for the camera lens on the display unit. Tough technically it won't be under display. Also you will have a hole on the display all time. For example proximity sensor under display made by others already. No big deal. That "3D sensor" most probably is a dual camera setup. One of the features of dual camera systems is depth measurement. With a single camera there is facial recognition systems, but they can be fooled by images, because they can't measure the depth.

Also remember, this is just stuff we've heard rumors about! FTFY Nothing is known until it's formally announced. And according to rumors, Apple's having issues with embedding the fps under the display just as Samsung did. The same rumor also suggests that that feature may be pushed back to next year.

And, we don't know the iPhone has any of those things. Especially the cameras under the screen, that's really unlikely. The FPS, maybe. We know Qualcom has already done it.

It's going to have to be pretty revolutionary in order to shell out that type of cash, and not a 7S.5...

Why is people that don't like apple so interested in this news?

Why don't you ask yourself the same question? Since you apparently don't like Samsung, yet you're so interested in Galaxy S8 articles.

It's a never ending battle. Samsung Sheep troll Apple articles, but then moan when Samsung articles are trolled by Anti-Samsung folk. Apple sheep troll Samsung articles, but then moan when Apple articles are trolled by Anti-Apple folk. Nothing we can do, except laugh at the fact that they're all prime examples of pot calling the kettle black.

I think for most people it's just in fun, not to be taken very seriously. There are a few nutjobs on each side, though.

Omg I'm dying, you think I could be obsessed with the GS8? I just can't avoid hilarious things like the red tint issue, the bootloop, the audio, the ram management, the drivers issues that makes the phone perform so lame, etc etc etc... it's so hilarious to see delusional fans cry like children when they discover Santa Claus is a myth. I couldn't care less about android and the 261849201737 devices released everyday, I just like to laugh sometimes with the tragic news about Samsung

I said "interested", didn't say " obsessed". "I just can't avoid hilarious things like the red tint issue, the bootloop, the audio, the ram management, the drivers issues that makes the phone perform so lame, etc etc etc..." Remember the iPhone has had similar hardware issues too. "I just like to laugh sometimes with the tragic news about Samsung". That means you sometimes have attention and time for Samsung articles... Proves my point.

"Considering the rumored technology said to be on board the device, this might not seem so crazy." No, that is crazy for any phone to be priced that high.

From what I saw today at the mall the new Iphone must have some serious charm to command that price. I took my 7 plus to the mall today and compared it to the s8 plus. Seriously, if you're just a lover of tech and not biase the difference between both phones will make you wonder why there is so much praise for the iPhone. The s8 plus is just miles ahead in almost every aspect of a smart phone that matters to me. The camera made my iPhone felt dirty and muddy. The design made my iPhone feel so big and outdated. The screen was something else. who ever says the current iPhone is anywhere close to the new galaxies is simple a diehard Fanboy and please don't talk about speed. All my major apps I use opened faster on the s8.
