Extremely popular in Europe, Deezer finally expanded stateside a couple of years back to challenge music streaming market leader Spotify and then-underdog Apple Music, which of course never really happened.
But if you’re thinking of giving another platform of this type a try this holiday season, Deezer is running a number of winter promotions that might be too good to ignore. The service, available on Android and iOS handsets, as well as Google Home smart speakers and smart displays, and even a few interesting wearable devices, normally starts at $9.99 a month for a Premium tier after a standard 30-day free trial.
Until November 30, however, you can pay a grand total of $0.99 for three whole months of ad-free, unlimited music streaming with offline playback capabilities. There’s obviously a catch, as this crazy good winter offer is only valid for new and Free users with no previous subscription to any other Deezer plan in the last 90 days and no previous Deezer trial or promotions at any time.
The goal is pretty clear, namely to boost a monthly active user base of around 14 million people worldwide, although getting them to pay the usual monthly fee after the promotional period could prove tricky.
