Alleged Galaxy S10 benchmark hints at new screen aspect ratio and design

Instead of 18.5:9, as on the current Galaxy S8, S9 and Note 9 handsets, the new or updated Infinity Display design will come with 19:9 aspect ratio, possibly making the screen taller within the same footprint. Does that mean we will see even thinner bezels and better screen-to-body ratio on the new Galaxy S10 trio? We certainly hope so.

That's pretty close to the current design language. Not a drastic change for an anniversary phone. And the useless Bixby button is still there. The only thing that's an improvement is the inclusion of an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Big giant forehead looks just as bad as a notch.....

Where the heck is that a giant forehead? How the heck is that bit of bezel as bad as a notch? The notch cuts in to the screen; the top bezel dosen't do that.

Coming from a guy with a big giant forehead. It doesn't look worse than the notch because it doens't block anything. Grow some hair over you notch and grow some brains too.

Your weak insults don't bother me. God only made a few perfect heads, then He put hair on the rest of them. Look at the damned picture. That top bezel is 4 times larger than the bottom. That looks much worse than a notch, that's a FULL width notch. Now, move on.

You need to pop your Mom's titty outta your mouth and grow up. Armchair warriors like you are pretty much what I expect from this generation.

Not remotely. A forehead doesn't interrupt the screen.

It may not interrupt the screen, but it does make the phone look like it's upside down. It needs symmetry.

So not seeing part of the screen is more important than symmetry??? Ok...

They can’t “radically change” the design of the phone. The best they can do if they wish to avoid the notch, is thin out the top bezel as much as possible, leaving just enough room for the array of sensors; and shave off almost all remaining side and bottom bezel. I don’t care for the notch because it warps and cuts into multimedia content (videos, games etc) it doesn’t matter how well optimized it is. And many app developers are lazy and do a half-baked job optimizing their apps too.

If this continues we'll have native 21:9 ultrawide phones.
