Galaxy Note 8 vs the top big phones on the market: a size comparison

We've got some pretty reliable numbers from CAD blueprints for the Galaxy Note 8 that could help shed some light on how big Samsung's upcoming phablet will be, so let's take a look at how it compares to the top 5.5-inchers (and up) currently on the market, as well as it's ill-fated (now-reborn) predecessor...

The note 8 is almost 10 cm taller than the 7. Not 1 cm taller. Fix that mistake phonearena

Its not. But to each his own. Its just slightly taller than the S8+ which isn't big at all. TO me even though I know thr S8+ was bigger than my Note 7, it doesn't feel bigger in my hands.

Well the s8 plus looks small in comparison.. Why cant the note 8 just be same size.. Why does ot have to be big

It's not just taller; it's also wider. I'm now reconsidering. I wouldn't mind if the screen was perhaps flat. Even with excellent palm rejection, this will be difficult to manage in one hand.

Agreed. While it's also what she said, it's just too damn big if these dimensions are true.

Reconsidering? Everyone here knows you are never considering a Samsung in the first place. You crap on them every chance you get but will swallow Apples core like there's no tomorrow

Nope. I plan on purchasing the Note 8. It's one hell of a device. The rest of your comment was unnecessary lol.

Its name should give it away that its big selling point is two handed use. You know, what all phablets are meant to be. If you want this in a one hand sized envelope, there is that model called the S8.

Isn't this comparison about the iPhone 7 Plus, and not the iPhone 7? So not sure what you saying.

1cm = 10 mm .. ignorance is not a bliss. Note 8 is 16.2cm tall and the note 7 is 15.3cm

Note 7 perfect size for me, note 8 to big.

I agree. The Note 7 was a perfect size. This looks the same, but bigger. Its look pretty good. But it would have been really cool if it was more than a Note 7 with a larger display and smaller bezels. Was really hoping for a different design language. I bet by the time the Note 10 comes, they will offer a flat and curved model, because the flat model designed peaked years ago and the curved design has already peaked. Even though the curve design is cool and was a nice change, its boring now because they used it on some many models in one way or another. But I personally don;t want a flatten phone again. Hoping Samsung really comes up with something great next time, And no I don't want the top and bottom to be curved, but I am betting that's gonna be the next move.

I don't think that OEMs have many choices anymore when it comes design. If the front is all display, how do you want to design it? If you want to offer wireless charging, you need a glass or plastic back. An OEM can change the design only by the general shape of the device (either more squarish/ bulky or rather thin and roundish). Edge curved or flat screen does not make a huge difference with an all display design in my opinion. Edge Curved screens seem to be more impractical to me though. However, a curved phone like the LG Flex might be great design alternative.

"The Pixel XL, being very similar to the iPhone 7 Plus in terms of both size and screen-to-body ratio also feels, like, so 2016 when compared to the Note 8... man!" 2016? There were already better size and screen to body ratio before 2016... It's more like the Pixel XL iPhone 7 Plus feels like a tablet next to the Galaxy Note 8.

Why don't companies just announce their phones themselves instead of these stupid official leaks.

Doesn't matter how big it is, it will still sell very well.

Note 8 looks great! But if the price isn't where I think it should be, I won't be buying it. We will see if Samsung holds to its word that Note 7 owners will receive a discounted price for staying with the Note brand. If not and its over a certain amount, I won't be buying it; or a Note ever again. Samsung needs to make good on its word, or I certainly will be showing my disdain with my wallet.
